LSU Pete, couple that with USC's defensive line completely healthy (who was already unstoppable when they missed they're starters) you looking a horrible day for Perry.

Guys very informative post. In you guys opinions will this be a high scoring game or low scoring? Line is now at 59. Can these 2 play defense. Is the OVER a total public play?

I got two stats for you fellas, Llyod Carr is 16-3 vs top ten teams, and for all you people who say Michigan can't run the ball go ask Ohio St and their so called best run defense what Michigan did against them. If you really want to throw meaningless stats then why don't you mention how poor USC's pass defense is statistically. Have any of you seen just how good Michigan's WR's are? In my opinion their by far the best in the nation. If anything is going to kill Michigan today is their piss poor special teams play. One more thing why don't some of you USC backers mention the speed factor. That shit is mythical, something that the ESPN gameday crew came up with. Go ask MIami last year how their team speed helped them get bounced in the Fiesta. Those days of the Big Ten being to slow are over. I still think Michigan will have a tough time today, but if you think that they are going to get blown out your nuts. Michigan is very scary as an underdog

USC defense is opportunistic no question but I still think they are overrated.

USC only played three teams that run and lost one of those games. They beat Auburn (i don't look at that game because auburn sucked and just listened to their hype all summer and never got good until half way through the year)they also beat Oregon St. but OSU moved the ball up and down the field. They lost to Cal and were even lucky to get it to overtime.

Just think the stats are a little misleading USC #2 rush defense but only played two running teams.

I also wonder about how upset they are that USC is not in the Sugar bowl. They should be very focused for this game but you know that they are all upset for not being in that bowl.

I think Michigan is in the perfect spot and is a very live underdog to win outright.

Just like all the USC bandwagoners last year, you could say Michigan is playing the best in the nation right now

Great thread, really enjoying. One thing I have a question about. How does one look at a loss for one team as a mulligan, while the other team's two losses exposed all their weaknesses. I watched the Cal-USC game, I didn't see the part where USC wasn't trying. I am not trying to be a prick, sorry if it is coming across that way, but, when coming up with a play, don't just disregard the team you are playing on's loss as a mulligan. Also, I think its great USC is pumped up and feels as though if they roll Michigan they have a shot at the title, but, come on fellas, they are playing Michigan, not Hawaii. I think if their mindset going in is in regards to how much they need to win by, they may be in for a bit of a surprise. I like Michigan to win on the up. Having said that, the coaching mismatch scares the sh_t out of me. Year in and year out Michigan gets top 5 recruiting classes and always finds a way to lose a game or two, and, I really, really fear the Chow factor versus Michigans defense. But, all in all, I am sticking with my pick, Michigan straight up.

REML totally agree with your points. Michigan's offensive line is awesome and they have the athletes in the secondary to hang with USC's wideouts.

This game reminds me of Penn State/Miami in the Fiesta when Vinny threw 5 INT's against a Penn State defense they were going to "torch". Penn State's DB's hit the Miami wideouts hard and made them afraid to catch the football. If Michigan does the same they will be very effective today. They have to bring Big 10 smashmouth football to beat the Trojans today. If they can keep SC's offense off the field and control time of possession with the running game and Perry they will win.

Good luck...

Couple of Points:

I had last years USC squad rated higher than this years. Last year Palmer was the difference maker in these big game contests.
As well as Leinart has done this yaer for the Trojans,I think he's in for a tough day against Michigans top notch secondary.
Navare's the veteran QB in this contest. His experiance should overcome USC'S statistical turnover advatage.

I have Michagan rated higher than USC this year due to their performance & strength of schedule.

Congrats guys! Man got kinda nervous there for a sec. Nonetheless USC was clearly the better team on the field today. My only play of the bowl season I don't think I'll ever lay that much of my bankroll ever again. That was too much!!!

Congrats SC backers!

too bad u had make it interesting instead of scoring at will. Boy that's what was so frustrating. USC could've easily put up an additional 2-3 TD's in the 2nd half the way Michigan's secondary looked. Talk about deer in the headlights.

Class job by Pete Carrol n crew. The REAL National Champion already played their game and won in Pasadena!
