Maybe save up say $500 and purchase a set from Costco and forget Wally World. I don't think I've ever purchased a bad product from them, and if you do, their return policy is second to none. Just looking at Costco.com this morning, they have quite a few lower end sets if you could toss a $200 more towards it.

I tried very hard to order it today from WM, ran into too many obstacles. I think their website was somewhat ...well fucked up today ! It insisted my zip code was 94066 , which is San Bruno, Ca. I never even heard of that place, the last time I was in CA was 1987. It overtaxed me based on zip code.$139.99+ CT sales tax of 6.35 %, or$8.89 equals $148.88, they want to charge me $19.25 in taxes for $159.24 based on my zip code in a city I never even heard of. 3 calls to their customer service, got me nowhere, trying to just buy it over the phone, couldn't do it, wasted over an hour with that, I want it from them so I can return it without dicking around with shipping and waiting. I actually expect it to be defective and the need to buy and return several times to get one that works !

It's advertised as free shipping, but at the checkout stage it says store pickup only, WTF ?
Maybe it will work tomorrow ?

I may have over- stated by a bit, but $800 or so is what it takes to get something high end.

i recommended the best buy geek squad in case it didn't work so they could bring it back and try another one within the hour. your transportation issues are monumental and you are undertipping the cab guy to cart you back and forth to wal mart continuously. do you always get the same driver. very unusual.

Geek squad wants $100 to deliver and setup his $140 tv, to me not worth it. What are the chances he gets 2 bad tv's in a row.

Ugh, maybe Doug should just stick to a push button radio? This TV thing is not working out. He does have a high level washer and dryer though.

The new one comes today, I don't need anything fancy but do require it to at least give me a picture when I press the power on from the remote, that's not too much to ask for ?

Do you honestly have the geek squad install your television?

i wouldn't pay that outrageous fee for them to come and do it unless i was installing a complete home theater with wall mounted tv, computer, sound bars, chair with remote devices and whatever else that would cost in excess of 4000.00. i cannot believe that a 40" tv only costs 129.00 however. they must be reconditioned or open box returns which probably are defective. his issues are transportation related. still, getting one back home and muttering to himself "i wonder if this one will work" can be tiresome.

$139, not $129. Not refurbished, or open box, etc.brand new, delivered a few hours ago, haven't even opened the box yet. The way stuff is made today, you'll get defective items frequently. I wouldn't touch open box electronics, that's stuff people have returned or floor demo stuff, etc. Even if it's 40% off, no thanks !ⁿ
