That is my practice. It's on my website (which I'm sure my stalkers should have found), it's on my letterhead, it's on my business cards, it's how I signed 10,000 (or 20,000 including states) tax returns, it's how I describe my occupation on this site. It's how I've practiced for over a decade now, and I wouldn't change a thing.
Been in business for 21 years, prepared (or will prepare) approximately 750 tax returns this year. Serve nearly 50 small business owners.
People suggesting I'm doing something unethical are categorically incorrect. If I were a like a doctor practicing without a license after all these years and with all my clients, I'd be in jail and I'd be headlining local news.
If I wanted to be BBB Accredited, I'd be BBB Accredited. I'm not because I don't need to be. I don't need to network more, I already have an amazing network. I don't spend one penny trying to grow the business, I'm actually trying to curtail growth, but I keep growing and growing every year from referrals, despite the fact that I keep raising fees for new clients (it's to a point I should be saying no, but I can't, it's like I'm genetically incapable of turning away business that's trying to walk through the door) . Although I'm not a BBB member, they still give me an A+ rating for being in business in town for 21 years and never having a single complaint.
I met Franco C from a referral form a Tax / Elder Law Attorney
While Franco is long removed from my life, only microscopic exception being the stalkers on this site, the attorney and I interact nearly every week on mutual clients (or potential clients). He apologizes often for sending me Franco, can't believe he was such an asshole.
