GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

An honest response from a CFB fan who had his pocket picked for 1/3 of all the worthwhile games in an average season... and they did it real long and slow like being beaten to death with a teaspoon. And so GoSooners, you think it's going to get worse?
Conan...If Texas wins the title I definitely think the scheduling will get worse among the top 10-15 schools who are the legit BCS title contenders every year. We'll probably still see the middle of the pack BCS teams schedule other BCS schools. But why would the big boys do it after Texas sets the bar at low. Personally, I think the easy schedule is going to cost Texas the BCS title, if not the Big 12 title. But this cupcake schedule talk is all a moot point for the next 5-7 years since these schedules are made ahead of time. But if Texas wins it all, and they continue with this BCS system as it is, I can see many more of these BCS teams calling up the Toledo's of the football world asking them if they have an open spot for 2015.

Heres the thing. I know you dont want to hear it, but you have to accept it someday.

From YOUR point of view schedules are an issue. From an SEC fans they are not.

Why?

Because SEC teams will sell more tickets for a game vs Western Carolina than most the Pac-10 teams will sell for any conference game. There is simply more interest in SEC games by the fans, the media, the players SEC teams know they will face probably 3-5 top 20 teams every year on thier schedule by default. Theres no need to add some random game vs some random team. Im sure from where you sit , after watching a season of games like an Arizona vs Washington St matchup that you cant even pick up on XM radio , OF COURSE you would want to see some OOC flavor. I would be hungry for some power football too if thats what i had to read about in the local media.

There is no need for a communist OOC scheduling requirement. All conferences are not equal (in any sport) nor will they ever be. Florida can schedule whoever the hell they want and still have a higher SOS than USC because of the SECCG.

Here's the thing, I know you don't want to hear it but it's a fact you have to live with. I can't help it if life is so boring in Knoxville etc. to the point that college football is the only ticket in town. I couldn't possibly get used to what you are used to in that way. But if you are happy to pay $20+ or more to watch an exhibition game instead of a decent opponent week after week, at least it's not my money you are spending. I consider it a waste.

If the Pac-10 decided to go to an 8-game schedule with 4 patsies that come play them for home games, you would need to get used to the idea of moving over to let more Pac-10 teams into the top tier in the rankings. They play with a scheduling disadvantage by limiting their OOC games to 3 instead of 4. At least we have better football games to watch in September than you do. We out here are more picky about what kind of competition we will spend our money to go watch. That is obvious. But if you are happy watching Tennessee Chatanooga lose every year to a big school, then to each his own.

I won't argue your point that money is at the root of scheduling in the SEC. That is difficult to get used to if you really support college football as a fan, especially if you are just a little more worldly than to think the world is flat and you would fall off if you ever left the south. Not my problem, it's yours, obviously so with every post you make. Small minds are very unprofitable. It is your thinking and every other fan that settles for mediocrity at least 1/3 of the season with OOC schedules that degrade the game. If that makes you happy, then you are just as degraded as your OOC schedules.

I was going by the cfb datawarehouse numbers. NCAA also keeps track of the ticket prices on their site if I'm not mistaken. I didn't look it up. I'll admit it. So $50 to watch FIU get their asses handed to them is a deal eh? That's worse than I thought.

CP doesn't have a clue what he's talking about re: ticket prices. Tickets at UF are $32 and $35 (for "premium" games). The face value on a ticket at UF only shows that, the face value. To get season tickets for UF you must contribute a "donation" to the UF Athletic Association. That donation is based on: How long you have been a season ticket holder, and/or Where your seats are.

Coach LT has tickets that are roughly 40 yard line seats. He pays the face value of the ticket....plus the cost of the donation. The ticket ends up costing about $200+ per game.

I know Ohio State, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Penn State, Oklahoma, Nebraska, UGA, Texas A&M, Auburn, Michigan and those level of D1 schools have similar situations.

I went to a Northwestern/Wisconsin game (at NW) in 2005. The face value was $50! Unreal! For Northwestern!!

Basically, CP's arguement is idiotic.

your reading comprehension is pathetic and so is your reporting.

so some guy suckered you into paying him 200 bucks to sit in his lap and wave the pom poms. woo-hoo! you can get into any game in gainesville after kickoff for about 50 bucks

as for face value - UT tickets average around 50. i venture to say ive been to a few more SEC games than you have and held a few more ticket stubs to read such info - i dont have to quote someone else's deal with the scholarship fund.

stop flaming and try to have an original thought that does not involve me, thanks.

CP, you are a fucking moron. Seriously!

Do you have fucking season tickets to UT? Or UF for that matter? I doubt it. You probably hang around the stadium and buy your ticket from a fellow toothless redneck. The FACT is that even if the "face value" says $50 on the ticket it cost that booster MUCH more than $50 at a UT, UF, Texas, Michigan, Ohio State, etc. If you don't believe it...again....you are a fucking idiot!

Are you telling me there are no booster fees included in the cost of UT tickets? The only tickets at UF that do not include booster fees are the tickets sold to UF students and the few thousand sold to the visiting team. The remainder are sold to UF boosters via the UF Athletic Association....which include booster fees. For UF boosters at the "Bull Gator" level they pay $14,000 PLUS the cost of the face value of the season tickets.

http://www.gatorzone.com/tickets/pdf/footb2009_season.pdf

Bull Gator
$14,000 +
Limited up to 8 tickets

Grand Gator
$8,000 – 13,999
Limited up to 6 tickets

Scholarship Club
$4,200 – $7,999+
Limited up to 4 tickets

Those are the costs for season ticket holders. If you donate $14,000 you are allowed to buy up to 8 season tickets. If you buy the max you are paying the face value of the season ticket packags PLUS the $14,000. That's $1,750 PLUS the $245 (7 games X $35) per ticket....which is just over $2000 for 7 games....that's almost $300 per game. Although the ticket stub says $35 on it. And that is if the Bull Gator buys all 8 tickets they are allowed. Some buy less than 8 tickets, which will drive up the per ticket average.

This is the same way UT does it. No way UT pays their athletic budget on $50 per ticket alone. I'm going to take a wild guess that you don't have an MBA!

CP, How are those FACTS for a "flame", DUMBASS? You come on this site daily and prove how much of an idiot you are. Thank you.....

I'M a flamer? You are the biggest worthless piece of shit on these boards!

You obviously don't own UT season tickets or you would know they don't "cost" $50. Just because you can stand outside the stadium and find someone to sell you a ticket for that price doesn't mean it "costs" $50. And, again, you OBVIOUSLY don't own an MBA from anywhere!

You make this TOO EASY!! Thanks, fuck-head!

Good luck this season w/ that moron coach you have. I see now why you suck his dick in all these threads.....two pea's in a pod!

Damn, you guys are dirt cheap. Face value tickets for USC games range between $40.00 for the cheap seats, to $300.00 for the good ones, and those are the prices for the value games. For the UCLA game, they start at $120.00 and go up to $1200.00. Season tickets are sold on a priority basis, and you had better have around 10-25k handy to get a decent seat.
