If you are correlating the capture of Sadam and votes you are one sad American.

Not sure who you're directing this comment toward, but if you don't see a correlation between the capture of Saddam and the inevitable rise of Bush in the opinion polls, then you need to reexamine your understanding of politics. I don't mean to be offensive when I say that, but I can absolutely guarantee that Bush is sitting back right now with a very clear understanding that today's events will help alleviate much of the criticism directed toward his administration these days. I doubt that even the most staunch Republican would argue that point.

Bush cried when Iraqi Television showed our prisoners of war, but seems to have know problem with showing 2 dead bodies and Saddam looking like shit.

Our Gov't and its hypocricy back in action like always.

And if they didnt show those pictures, there would be nonstop whining about where's the proof, that Bush is lying yet again, like I saw in The NY TImes the day after by idiotic letter writers. Theres just no way to win with lunatic leftists.

Iget2ps,

So it is OK for us to show the pictures, and it is evil when they do it. Gotcha.

Couldn't they let the Red Cross or some other objective party see him and then verify the fact that it is him. You know, like when Iraq had our POW's and Rumsfeld was screaming " war crime, war crime " because the Red Cross was not being given immediate access to them.

What a minute, that wouldnt work. Last night on 60 minutes, the same Rumsfeld said he didnt know when or if the Red Cross would be allowed to see Saddam. I am sure the complete 180 is somehow justified.

You didnt make a point - you made an EXCUSE.

The geneva convention prohibits showing of these POW's, it does not say UNLESS you find an excuse to show the pictures.

I am sure there were many people in the world who doubted Iraq could capture those American POW's - so maybe that is why Saddam showed them on TV - because wanted the proof.

The bottom line is that no matter what the U.S. gov't does people like you will find an excuse to justify it.

It wasnt 6 months ago that Rumsfeld and Bush were crying "war crime, war crime" because Saddam supposedly wasnt allowing the Red Cross access to our POW's. We were constantly reminded how the Geneva Convention REQUIRES that the Red Cross have access to check on their condition, etc.

Now Rumsfeld says the Red Cross cannot have access to Saddam and other high ranking Iraqi POW's. Lmao. What hypocrites.

Danny,
You're exactly right - lemmings like IgetPMS would have made great 40's Germans.
