My computers slow why?

First thing you want to do is to find out what process is running that cause your pc is running and slow....once you determine what causes it....you can decide to remov it....

1) Hit <Control> <Alt> <Delete>....all at same time...
2) Seletc Task Manager
3) Look at the bottom where it says "CPU Usage"...your percent should change from 1% to 20%....the most....if it says 75% or 80%...you're serious fuqed....
4) You can also hightlight the process, right click and terminate the process to stop the process
5) Once you determine what processes are running and bog down your pc....you can get software to scan and remove your spams and all the junks that you dont need...my favorites are "Spy Sweeper" and "Ad Aware"

my cpu usage is at 2 percent when nothing is opened..

when I open a browser it skyrockets as high as 90 percent for a second or 2 then goes back down

as I AM TYPING this it goes up to 24%

I also see some wierd names

what are these??

That sounds normal.

You can type all those processes right into google and it will tell you what they are.(if they are viruses or not)

You know.... I would just reinstall everything fresh and clean. Dell has lots of crap out of the box....

My XPS laptop used to be slow as hell too but I cleaned re-install evertying, no virus protection and no nothing... just bunch of regular programs and poker programs...

works like an XPS......

U may have trojan running or basically just be careful where u go on the net...... dont click YES to any pop up that ask you YES or NO.........
