I've been seething about this for awhile now. Is there some kind of myth that Totals are easier to beat than Sides? A few years ago we had no Totals at all in NCAAB for the first two weeks. Then they were up overnight. Then the following year they got posted at 11AM, but at least there was a Total for every game.

I think last year TOTALS came out overnight when the game prices were posted. Now this year they come out sporadically, if at all. CRIS posts them if they're "on TV" (whatever the Fuck that means in this modern age). 5Dimes has a Total on every game, but if you want a 4pm game you might have to wait until 3:45 to see a Line, IF you have an account there (If they didn't toss your credit agent out after the Superbowl)!!! Bama vs South Carolina at 4PM has No Total -- This is just lame.

What else? Added Games! Having to scroll through an entire menu through the night games to see the afternoon added games. Put them in the Fucking Rotation already or take the damn Conference off the board entirely!

Lastly, online books who take games off the board 1 second after they're scheduled to tip off. Is a PPH shop really going to get past-posted when they write a bet on Clemson vs Virginia at 12:02? Please!

What do you mean myth? Some of those totals on the small conf games are really soft and the books have taken losses on them for years because nobody bets them besides sharps/syndicates, etc

First it was overnights with limits, then smaller limits, then less overnights, now no overnights.

Obviously none of this would be happening if the books were able to just toss these totals out and collect the 4.5% on it. Their margins are thinner and thinner every year from what I just said and they know it won't piss off any casual bettors to do this so they do...

Sorry Pats, not buying it. It's a new world now. If they know to set Delaware at -8.5 they should have an idea where to set the Total. It's not like these teams never played before. The games where Totals are posted hardly even move anymore after they come out (actually nothing much moves anymore unless RAS plays it). They all wait for 5Dimes and then copy and move on air anyway.

It is not just the small conference games. There are tons of major conference games that get no totals because they are not on national TV. Every B10 game gets lined because of the B10 network. But ACC, SEC, Big12 etc that have syndicated packages have most of their games with no lines. Sportsbooks are in the business to take bets. Surely they can make a total line for Baylor/Kstate. Maybe it doesn't piss off many casual bettors but this is the reason I haven't reupped at BM in the last 2 years. So this is at least 1 bettor they have lost.

3 TOURNAMENT games just went off with No Over/Under. Consolation prize for BOL hanging one of them, Rider (162).

This is a new low for the Offshore industry.

Time to just quit capping O/U altogether I guess.

There is some truth to what you are saying but c'mon Scott, they aren't being nitty as fuck because they feel like it man.

They're being nitty as fuck because of a lot of what I said is true. Nothing moves later in the day but if they posted overnights as aggressively as they used to, it would definitely be a lot of movement.

BAS I'd go UNDER that number. Hofstra hit 148 last night but last year no game in this Tourney reached 140. There were 62 UNDERS and 38 OVERS the last 10 years in the Colonial Conf. This game I really had no intention to play but I usually look for low scores in this tournament as well as the Mizz Valley. And I've never seen these unlined in the past 15 years.

Patsfan it's entirely plausible they simply FORGOT to post these Lines. Maybe due to lack of interest.

Probably saved me some money too. I think 147 was a good # BAS and I would have played under.

There is demand though, it is just the type of demand they don't wanna bother with.

In theory I'd think the put overnights up with low limits and let the line get bet into place then have a solid line the next day idea would work...

Seems like they don't even wanna do that though.

Not sure Pats I was a Diamond level player at BM and I haven't made a bet there in 2 years.

Good thread with some good discussion on this subject.

In this industry right now with the current climate over the last couple of years it's all about "risk management"

Wouldn't the lines be soft for these added games also? I think its being lazy.

4 - Fucking Refs staring at a monitor taking 7 minutes to make up their minds, interrupting the flow of the game.

The last 20 seconds of HOU-POR took 20 minutes. And of course after the delay up 3 a Portland player who was 10 for 10 missed a foul shot. 3 to Tie by Harden (does he ever miss?) and there goes my UNDER. Now I have to sweat PORT +6. Blow Me!

Bookmaker fails to post totals for SEC, Big 12 and Conf USA conference tourney games. Amazing.
