Well fellas. Today is the day the money bubble generally busts. The competition is fierce and if you've made it this far it's not luck, chance, or just running good. We are all here with one goal in mind... The final table. All of these guys have most likely dreamed of this situation since last year. Noone will be playing anything other than their A game. The last couple days the tables have been filled with light hearted chatter, not today. This thing just got real serious. There are a couple obvious players left in the field I am rooting for.... But I got one person to think about, myself. I do have one advantage here that the majority of the guys don't. I'm not interested in a mincash, I need a deep run to satisfy myself. That allows me to expose the players that "want to cash." There is about a 3 hour window that will happen today where guys will play extremely cautiously leading into the bubble. If the spots fall correctly durring this period I can expose these guys and chip up at a accelerated rate. This strategy also puts me at risk, but the potential reward outweighs the risk for me. My stack will soar or bust within those couple hours. If I can build a healthy stack (a top 25% stack within that time... I give myself as good of a shot as anyone... Anyone. Please understand I'm not being cocky, just confident. The same confidence any of you would have doing whatever you have dedicated your time and energy to.

Unk has a bit of work to do early. His chipstack is pretty low relative to the blinds. He is going to need to put himself at risk early.

Im feeling good today guys. I will keep you updated. I'm going to go take a walk, get some fresh air.

I like it bud! Go get em. Stay confident, and pull unk along for the ride. Glad to hear you're feeling it, and I look forward to seeing you work your way to the Final Table...Good luck today, AWM!

I just ran into a couple guys that I know from the circuit as well as a couple faces I don't recognize sitting talking in the sportsbook. This was a group of guys that are still in the main. They were having a "strategy" talk about the looming bubble. Bubble talk always cracks me up. You have a group of guys that are "willing to fold aces" on the bubble. This is the type of play that is extremely exploitable for guys like me that aren't interested in cashing. I just want to yell "MFer.. I didn't come here to fold aces preflop." I'm hyped and ready to get these cards in the air! Unk is awake. I had a strategy talk with him. I don't think he was too interested. He was more interested in that morning cig and already on the whiskey. Oh well, it's got him this far right?

I laugh at the guys who would fold aces preflop as well awm..what the heck kind of poker are they playing.. double entry fee is great and making the money, but today is the day where people capitalize on the blind collection <><>

My balls aren't that big... my dream would be to simply cash in the Main Event. If it's close to the bubble and I wake up with aces... Ill consider folding them certainly.

AWM seems to have a much bigger goal in mind.

GL AWM!

Love the fact that you are 100% not scared to bust before the bubble - it really puts you in a +EV spot with an opportunity to build a large stack for a deep run. @)

im not gonna lie i wouldnt fold AA preflop but if i was in the running to min cash, i would want the money and i wouldnt get cute with them the way you and other pro's would play them. early position dont care if i way overbet what the blinds and antes are, id push my stack in and make someone call off, basically yeah i got AA come and get it....middle/late position same thing, you get a raise in there, i dont care if it was for 5k and i had 50 or 100k behind im pushing in and making someone call off way behind that or they all fold i scoop a few chips to buy me a few more orbits until in the money bubble. anyways thats just the way i would play it b/c i would really really be sweating that min cash, like many have echoed really enjoy your thread one of my favorite reads of the year....gl the rest of the way....

Ditto. I wouldn't fold them but I'd make it pretty clear that's what I was holding and if someone wants to stack off against me then fine.

Funny I had this conversation with my friends not long ago. Some of them said they would lay down aces. I was really mad, I don't understand why you even play the main event if the money means that much to you. Your playing way over your head if your folding aces preflop

I can't see a hand where I would fold aces pre-flop either but if people like me were say 5 people from the money and it was an all-in with a large stack, I might think about it for a few seconds too.

AWM isn't like most of us (or at least like me) where if I ever played in the World Series main event it would be a one-time thing in my lifetime so I would probably play differently. AWM gets to come back every year so while he wants to win as bad as anyone, he also knows he gets another chance next year. Has to be a little different mind set in that regards.

Not to be redundant but agree with everyone else, great thread that I check daily.

Don't get me wrong.. I get it.. I do. Just not my mindset. Unk fully understands what is on the line... In 6-7 hours he may not though.

get the Choptalk challenge going again. want to see someone participate, that was interesting. That was your only Choptalk challenge BTW, the 'pick NFL playoff teams' challenge has been around for a long while before you posted it

Yeah I would give 50%+ SNG cashes a crack if PS were still around. Play a lot of them on 5d but they are slow to fill up and it'd take MONTHS.

Just checked and in the last month I have played 83 SNGs and cashed 36 of them (~44%) but that is going for first every time, if I was playing a challenge on % of cashes I'd play the bubble a little more carefully and think I could get it up over 50%.
