2PAC's lyrics were social and cultural instead of only fighting, gunning and bling bling stuff, even old school and today's stars are full of it, too much of commercial crap

But is understandable, like any other business, you try to make money, I like 2pac the most because he was different, original, he cared about those who were close to him and his people.

I agree azg... Pac is my favorite mainstream rapper of all. A story to tell in most songs and best of all he grew up in the Alemeda Projects... OAKTOWN! LOL! Pac wasn't too lyrically violent until 1. he came to death row with Suge and 2. Got fucked over by a lot of people. I mean "Dear Mama" wasn't gangsta by any means. The best part about Pac is that most people from all socio-economic backgrounds could relate to wht he was saying ... even from a vicarious standpoint.

I was in high school way back at the beginning of rap and gangster rap.

One of the best not mentioned is Rakim. Eric B & Rakim was good shit in 86.

Old Public Enemy too.

Or how about the Beastie Boy's Paul Revere.

500 Watts of inverted bass comin out of the back of a Nissan Hardbody truck driving in circles around the high school parking lot.

:drink: with a 40 in the lap.

Watchdog.. I like you already! LOL! Shit I love rock, and prefer it over all genres however you rap likes are some of my favs!

Plant Asia (Oakland CA)
Dialiated People (LA Cali)
Rasco (Friends with Plante Asia from Oakland)

But one question since you like all those guys... how come no mention of "Mr. Lif", "Souls of Mischief", or "Del Tha Funky Homosapien"?

I like your tastes bro!
