One grand slam event about 10 to 12 years ago when both sisters were ranked 1 & 2
I remember distinctly betting on both to win at 500 tp win 875 I won 375 for the tourney.
First woman to ever beat her besides her sister in the grand slams became a favorite of mine
I even forget her name now but she was small & from Belgium!.

that HAD to be this lady....

best one-handed backhand, for me:

men- Federer
women- Henin

she's 5'5 ...was a baseline warrior..........:)

Um, where did I say that? Non sequitur, great logic there.

I can't stand her because she's racist, and she's a bitch. Ever since she told the Asian line judge that she was going to shove the tennis balls down her throat
for calling a foot fault on her, and subsequently got booted out of the US Open finals. Actually, I couldn't stand her before that, but that pretty much
sealed it.

nonsense.

Graf could barely handle Williams when Serena was 18, lol. Graf had to deal with Davenport, Hingus, Seles. Of those 3 the player with baseline strength similar to Serena was Davenport.

h2h

Graf Vs Davenport -- 6-6

S Williams vs Davenport-- 10-4

:)

but i'm sure Graf would 'kill her, wouldn't be close....'

Graf was on the downside of her career when Williams was 18....both at there prime , Graf would have her way over the pig.... BTW , Graf's era was a lot tougher then what Wiliams has had to go thru..that had some bearing on some of these head to head stats

lol. She was only 30. Graf 'in her prime' struggled with Davenport's power, how was she to handle Serena's with 'ease'?

you couldn't find ANY tennis person to back your silly statement. Your gross dislike for Serena is affecting your judgement. Either that you know nothing about tennis

I know plenty about tennis.. she was only 30....lol..30 is old for a lot of female tennis players , especially when they started at 13...try another sport to spill your nonsense.... eye test did it for me..BTW Graf still has more majors...now run along

Weak and reflective of you ;

Graf h2h vs Davenport

6-6

you see, she had problems vs a player with power

Serena vs Davenport

10- 4

sorry :) . No way in hell would Graf 'in her prime ' destroy Serena. The kid at 18 beat her .. Yikes.... Now run along or lay some facts ..:)

Graf was a tremendous champion .

you said she would 'kill Serena in her prime'

wrong .wrong . Wrong .

I have no idea who's 'better '. Nor do I care . I do know Graf would not destroy Serena .

Fair enough

for me Graf is the best I've seen .Not prone to self- induced meltdowns , drama. She was SUCH a class act .A fantastic ambassador for the sport

So glad Muguruza slayed the beast.

Ricboff, you can't count walkovers as wins.

Data taken from matchstat:

Graf vs. Davenport 7-6 (2-1 in Grand Slams)
Graf vs. Hingis 7-2 (4-0 in Grand Slams)
Graf vs. Capriati 10-1 (5-0 in Grand Slams)
-----
Serena vs. Davenport 9-4 (4-1 in Grand Slams)
Serena vs. Hingis 7-6 (2-1 in Grand Slams)
Serena vs. Capriati 10-7 (3-4 in Grand Slams)

My favorite Graf moment was her last Grand Slam win at the French Open. Where she made Martina Hingis run off the court in tears, after losing.

She's not 'a beast '. She's human , has a charitable foundation and helps . She has had her moments of shame. Have you ?

Again , I don't care who's number 1 all time . Do you ?
