Hopefully most threads can stay in whatever section they were created in...I think that respects the intentions of the thread creator the most...just because a thread attracts negative posts should not be reason enough to have the entire thread moved I think that makes it too easy for posters to sabotage threads...
The best forums are not the forums that have the most rules and the most active moderators moving things around where the posters did not intend them to be moved...the best forums are the forums that have the most freedoms...freedoms for posters to post as they want and how they intend without interference from moderators etc...I'm hoping we can keep TheRx a more freedoms oriented forum compared to the other police state poster protection program forums across the street...

Honestly, political posts belong in the poly forum.
granted there are some important topics that should be in the main forum. However many of this political jibberish in the main forum should be posted in the poly forum.

If a website is about , say, planting . The core discussion in the forum are as such. Topic related. Most are THERE BECAUSE you r interested in planting. Sure have some topics unrelated, share views and what not, the evolution of community (loneliness is a killer ) But you'd rather not have the forum infested with a topic(s) unrelated , say like religion. Why would anyone who is interested in planting hang around a forum that has more religion threads than planting threads? freedoms? wtf r u talking about? freedom is saying bye bye to that forum that has now houses religious zealots .
obviously damage has been done to this place, lots of posters gone , doesnt take a genius to figure that out. The mods r tyring to re-populate the Main forum with sports related stuff , hence moving pick threads here. I suppose.
they have moved a bunch of threads recently or else you'd be hard pressed to find a sports related thread in the Main forum , lol. Think the NBA, NHL thread would be the only ones..., actually i keep poisoning this place with golf shit.

Well I guess the best example I can think of is the one that Rudy uses to describe his idea of what The Main Forums are for which is a locker room or sports bar environment/atmosphere that everyone/anyone can be a part of and any topic is allowed...this way the website can be open to everyone to participate in much like a bar/locker room...obviously there will be threads that don't interest everyone and posters will have to steer themselves clear of those threads/posts just like in a tall life bar/locker room people have to steer themselves clear of people they don't like...but the place has to be open for all because nobody likes a bar/locker room that has the police listening in on everyone talking looking to eject/jail/fine people...
Freedoms that I speak of are simply the freedom to freely discuss anything without being censored...I know the Constitution doesn't guarantee protection in the private sectors unlike it does in the public sectors so I'm not saying the private sector such as websites have a duty/obligation to guarantee this...but I am saying that websites that do allow it are rare because most websites are turning into police states and I think this website could and will attract more posters by being unique and different from the rest of the cookie cutter police state poster protection program forums out there.

I think this forum can be run similar to how sports bars are run in real life where there are no bouncers at the door and the doors are always open for anyone to enter and hang around...there will be people that get offended but they can also find a small corner in the subsections where the noise isn't as loud or if they want they can go where all the noise is - which should be The Main Section.

It gets tiring yeah...but still think it would be better to allow everything since The Main Forum should be the busiest section and the subsections less busy by default...when forums are busy posters automatically have to scroll and sift through more threads/posts anyways so the busier this place gets the more we all have to scroll past in any event...
