How about Kurt Warner....from a $5.50/hr. hall-of-famer grocery bagger in Sioux Falls, Iowa to a Super Bowl win and MVP and he doesn't even take credit for any of his accomplishments! He dishes it all off to almighty God.

THANK YOU JESUS!!!! :pope:

I'd definitely say Warner, Dunn, Barry Sanders and Larry Fitzgerald. Fitz also makes it a point to give the ball to the ref when he scores.

I guess Barry Sanders was mentioned because he retired in his prime and kept it that way...

BiilHillbilly..guess you are 40ish and watched Brian`s Song annually 20 years ago..nice gale Sayers`s clips there huh?

Yeah he`s young..But I`d say Vince Young is as modest as it gets..so modest that he is not well..watch the clip of him scoring one of te biggest college football tds ever to beat Ohio St for the nat`l championship..Or after scoring on one of his spectacular runs..the kid puts his head down and walks towards the sidelines..he is a special soul and I would like to see him overcome his recent issues and have a great career!

Emmitt Smith? You have to be kidding. He was one of the most selfish players of all time.

Warrick Dunn has won NFL man of the year before. He is one of the leagues smallest RB's but he has one of the largest Hearts.

He came from a family with 9 or so brothers and sisters and he had to take care of his siblings. He wasn't even the oldest, but he was always a leader and helped out his mom, who was a single mom and a police officer.

Dunn has had an accomplished NFL career, and yet he drives a beat up old chevy car, lives in a modest middle class house, and donates all of his money to the single mom's charity he created. The dude doesn't run around with bling bling, or get caught up in gangs, drugs, or sex cruises, but he lives a middle class life, and tries to help out all the single mom's out there who don't have it easy.

Warrick Dunn
Drew Brees
Ladanian Tomlinson

all come to mind and they all won formal accolades

It sure is not

Cortland Finnegan, CB for Titans

I can't even bet for or against Tenn because this dude gets under my skin for some reason...

to his credit though, he is having one hell of a season. I guess I just can't stand his cocky-ass attitude

Brett Favre. He doesn't want to draw attention to himself, he just wants to play and have fun.

Randy Moss. Never takes a play off. Doesn't care about stats.

I would say

Jerry Rice
Barry Sanders
Joe Montana
Aikman
Emmitt

Lots of oldtimers were very modest

Jerry Rice? You mean the guy who made a poster of himself walking on water?

Emmitt Smith? One of the most selfish players of time? That guy?

Those two do not even belong on that list. The others do.

Barry Sanders would get my vote. What a class act and (arguably) the best RB to play the game.

I agree. Barry is the greatest guy ever. I'd let him have sex with my wife.
