Michael Moore's new film, "Fahrenheit 9/11," is scheduled to cause a real stink this summer before the November election.

The film, a two-hour attack on President George W. Bush, made its debut Monday at the Cannes International Film Festival.

The film's focus is on the Bush family, its associates and its ties to prominent Saudis -- and whether those ties clouded Bush's judgement in recognizing warning signs before the 9/11 terrorist attacks and hampered his response afterward.

Moore, also known for the Academy Award winning documentary "Bowling for Columbine" and several books he has written, goes on to critique the president's conduction of the war in Iraq and argues that the war not only affects the Iraqi people, but the lower-income Americans fighting there. Moore also attempts to make the case that the terror alert system may violate civil liberties.

The film is expected to be widely distributed this summer.

The summer ... during the time in which many Americans might want to spend time with the family -- inside watching movies, perhaps ... right around the summer conventions before the election.

This could be very interesting.

Republicans are, obviously, hoping that this movie will have zero effect on the outcome of the election. Conservative pundits are chalking this one up as downright un-American and view it as vicious anti-Bush propaganda.

However, Democrats will be salivating like hungry dogs tempted by steak as they await this movie's release, even though the movie does criticize them for not showing any opposition to Bush after the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

Who could blame them though? Several Democrats who are not big supporters of our president's current policies showed some support for our president at the time. Heck, even I was starting to like the president after 9/11. I stress "starting."

Democrats hope that it will feed the discontent forming with regard to Bush's Iraq policy and, in turn, help the heir apparent of the Democratic nomination, Sen. John Kerry.

Speaking of Iraq, Moore was considering the release of one sequence in the film after he presented the film at the festival Monday. That sequence is of some American soldiers laughing, goofing off and taking pictures as they place hoods over Iraqi detainees -- with one of them touching a prisoner's genitals through a blanket!

Sound familiar? Thought it might!

The film probably won't be available for viewers' consumption until July or August. Until then, I'm sure there will be plenty of talk about it.

When it comes out, I feel this is one everyone should make an effort to rent or, heck, even buy.

1> do not use the words Michael Moore and documentary in the same sentence...(unless in the way that I just did)

2>I wouldn't give this fat hypocrite a dime of my money. "Oh I hate the USA and capitalism but I sure do hope Miramax releases my movie. " What a fat phony slob.

What a fat phony slob.

Rush isn't fat anymore.

And to rail on how bad America and capitalism is and then to whine until a big studio releases your movie is very douche.

Bush To Make Film To Oust Michael Moore From Hollywood - May 18th 2004

George Bush has revealed his intention to make a film that exposes some of film producer Michael Moore’s dark secrets and release it before the 2004 Presidential Election. The film comes after Michael Moore’s film ‘Fahrenheit 9-11’ premiered at the Cannes film festival receiving mixed reviews despite a 15-minute standing ovation.

The President has already managed to generate publicity for his film by claiming that Disney has refused to distribute his film. Disney though has denied this and says the reason it is not distributing Mr Bush’s film is because he has yet to make it.

The President is apparently hard at work thinking up plot lines and researching Michael Moore’s background. Apparently the film will revolve around a scandal two years ago when Michael Moore ate all of his neighbour’s donuts.

“Look at how sinister this character is,” Mr Bush explained, “He claims that I am abusing my position of power, have ties with Osama Bin Laden and have illegally invaded Iraq. However this comes from a man who stole all of his neighbour donuts after being invited into his home.”

People who have seen Michael Moore’s film have claimed that whilst it raises serious questions they do not think it will cause serious damage to President Bush’s presidential campaign. However following the announcement of Mr Bush’s film about Michael Moore, book makers have claimed that it is now extremely unlikely for Mr Moore to become President in this year’s elections.

President Bush has attributed it to the strength of his film documentary about Michael Moore’s donut stealing days, however critics have claimed it is more likely down to the fact Michael Moore is not likely to stand as a Presidential candidate. They have claimed it is a bad idea for Mr Bush to try and fight Michael Moore on his home ground as he tried that with the Iraqis and has just ended up making a mess of the situation

If you want to see what is bad about the US just talk to Michael Moore.

No clear minded American is going to believe the garbage this guy spews on a daily basis.

If Kerry aligns himself with this loser, he will be a loser come November.

Funny how the so called conservatives who frequent the RX outdo the 'libs' at about a 10-1 rate when it comes to using fukking profane adjectives to emphasize their points.

I guess it's not enough to say, "Michael Moore's credibility is really in question to me. I don't put any stock in what he purports".

No, first we must be reminded that he's a fatt, fukkin, greasy, stinky, fatt, ugly, liberal, fatt guy...

Any chance youse could just switch to acronyms for smoother reading of your posts?

How about FFFFF Guy for any discussions about M Moore, J Kerry, those Judges in Mass, gays who get married, and John Ashcroft?

Always on the lookout here for time mgmt tools...

I can't help but wonder sometimes if Moore were a hot blonde with big tits if the conservatives would be more inclined to listen?

Bush looks like he's had his adenoids forcibly removed with a vaccuum cleaner -- but so what???

We'de be more inclined to watch and fantasize and teach the bitch a lesson ( if you know what I mean ), not listen. The only way Moore could destroy Bush is if he would fart in the same city Bush was in.

The question here should be,is what Michael Moore has to say true or not.I guess time will tell.My feeling is that if what he is saying is bullshit, the current administration would not be so concerned.

Judge, where do you see that the administration is concerned about this fiction? Karl Rove likely giggled his way through the entire movie. Moore is a promoter and proven liar; his word carries about as much weight as OJ Simpson's (his endorsement did wonders for General Clark). Lots of things should concern Bush, but he isn't losing a bit of sleep over Michael Moore.

wildbill hit the nail squarely on the head.....nobody with a brain pays any attention to propagandists like moore and limbaugh.....one looks in the mirror...and sees the other....

all these two do is basically inflame people that hate them....galvanizing opposition to their own party....

couldn`t have an objective thought if their life depended on it....

"Moore's documentary could destroy Bush"...are you kidding?......lol

you have to know that non-thinking propagandists like these two are veritable lightweights in the political debate....the only people that pay attention to these two are people so entrenched in their extremist politics that they can`t think straight....

wilheim?...you surprised me with that one...

laughable....
