How much of an investment portfolio should be in gold and / or silver?
This is Hotpizza's thread on funff, so dont want to derail, i'll asnwer tho with my 2-cents
i dont invest in commodities . My investment portfolio has zero in gold/silver. I do trade them . The market (SPY) is rigged to the upside, and if we all needed a reminder -see 2020. Commodities not so much (to the upside) , actually some that follow the precious metals say they're heavily manipulated . Candidly with the PUNISHED USD and seasonality (Nov-Feb) gld/slv were huge disappointments -- had a trading position that didnt go as planned, lol.
gld/slv dont provide dividends and they r not growth assets. So for ME, it just doesnt fit. I did use to have them in my investment portfolio and would periodically sell calls on them, got to the point i just said fuck it- ill trade them rather then invest
GLD
4 yr weekly (each candle is a week of action)
$160 zone is showing strength, retested 3 weeks ago and held. In addition, to add confluence a) this level is a .50 fibo level on the monthly chart , more good, was deep retrace b) on the daily it reclaimed its 50 sma. This chart looks good (i dont have a trading position)
