Aloha Gang. I am looking to capitalize on yesterdays successful day posting a 5W-2L= +9 Units , by taking the Cleveland Browns tonight. Tonight, I see several situational as well as strong motivational setups for the Browns to hopefully capitalize on tonight. The following is my reasons why I like the Browns in this one, and I think adding them all together will result in a Big victory ATS for us, but won't be surprised if they shock the world.
The Rams Off, currently is playing great ball as their #2 total Off ranking can attest to. But tonight, they don't face any weak Def, as Cleveland has the #7 overall Def in the league. They also rank #4 against the pass, and should be able to hold their own against this Off. Strengthing their Def. tonight will be the return of LB Ben Taylor who is 2nd in the team in tackles, despite being out the last 3 games. This will definately create a higher confidence level on the Browns Def with his return. Also, his return is important to the success of Browns shutting down the Rams running Off., primarily Marshall Faulk.
On Offense, Holcomb will get the start and won't need to worry about being replaced as QB Tim Couch suffered an injury last week. This is important, because that QB controversy can be put to rest, at least for tonight and especially for this game. Holcombs sitting, have given him a wake up call, and that should result in him being highly focused tonight.
The weather, should also give the Browns an addeed advantage and help to slow down the Rams abit, as they must now endure the temp's dipping into the 20-30's. Being in the cold outdoor elements is not always a comfortable place for teams that play in temperature controlled Dome, as the Rams do. The weather and playing surface that the Rams will play in, can only help the Browns in their efforts tonight.
The road this year has also shown us the other side of this Ram team. They are definately a different team on the road then at home, as their very close wins and losses can attest to. The Rams are currently 1-5 ats on the road. They lost SU at New York, then at Seattle earlier on in the season. But it is their very close wins recently on the road that has to be of concern for the Rams, and that gives us more confidence tonight. The Rams last two road games saw them barely winning by 2 at Chicago, and by 3 in Arizona. Now they have to deal with the weather and this very hostile crowd, not to mention a motivated Brown team, and that isn't an easy task for any team to overcome.
Still, what I like the most and what I feel will play the biggest edge in this game, is the motivational factor for the Browns tonight. The fact that this is a Monday night game, only adds to this motivation for the Browns, due to this also being only their first prime time game on Monday Night since 1995. This rare prime time game for the Browns is also only their 4th since 1999, three being on Sunday night. I cannot stress enough how motivated and focused teams get whenever they know that they will be playing in front of a National audience, especially for Monday Night Football. It is always brought to light the fact that everyone they know will be watching this game, and no one wants to look bad or get embarresed in this game. For the Browns, their poor record and disappointing season, is all forgotten about, as they have a chance tonight to somewhat redeem themselves. This will be their only chance to show that they are winners, and not one of the leagues flunkies. And their is no better opponent to achieve this against but the greatest show on turf.
Prime time games always seems to bring out the best in players, especially those on poor teams headed nowhere. It seems to be a way that are able to show everyone that their records doesn't reflect the true worth of their team. I think it is that reason, along with the fact that they can play alot looser then the opponent coming in, as they may play tighter due to every game needing to result in a win to either make the playoffs or strengthen their playoff position. The Rams are in this situation, which is another advantage for the Brown's tonight.
The Monday Night Home Underdog Play, at one time was the most successful play ATS, posting a winning percentage of approx. 74-78%. Their was at one time only two exceptions to this trend and they were when SF and Buffalo were visiting Road Favs on Monday night. But at that time, those teams ATS success on Monday night was during the Montana, Young, and Jim Kelly years. We all know how dominant those two teams were when these guys were playing. Now is another time, and although this trend has been down alittle, especially this year. It has been resurected last week, when the home underdog NY Jets defeated SU and ATS the road favs Tenessee Titans. I feel that in this Monday night game, with all these situational and motivational advantages being on the Browns side, it will result again, as done so often in the past, with another win ATS for the Monday Night Home Underdog. Also, I would not be surprised if the Rams get beat outright tonight as well, as Thanksgiving outright upset of the Green Bay Packers by the bottom dwelling Detroit Lions in Prime Time as underdogs in their House, just continues to remind me of the possibilities. Anyways, look for a strong performance by the Browns tonight and this game ending in a close highly contested match, which will result in at least a win ATS, if not an outright upset for the Browns. Take the Cleveland Browns +6 pts as my MONDAY NIGHT HOME UNDERDOG PLAY OF THE MONTH for 7 Units.
Good luck all, and lets go get em! Aloha CC.
