I believe Damar Hamlin is already dead. Or brain dead. The fact his vitals "returned to normal" means absolutely nothing. The insertion of a breathing tube means he can't breathe on his own!

After a cardiac arrest, involving possible hypoxia, its pretty routine to put in a breathing tube. The tube is attached to a sophisticated machine that allows you to dial in the parameters of each breath.
The induced coma, is simply to put the brain at "rest"......and avoid the nightmare of the patient rising to a level of consciousness where hes aware of the tubes irritating his throat, which then often leads to the patient pulling the tube out. So tube in ---> optimal oxygen delivery.
