The selection for this race is TRILLIAN. This mare has been racing versus some of the most competitive company in this field recently. That 66 speed figure clocked in the most recent race puts this nice horse in the mix in this race. HATHAWAY KENNY - Worth a look here based on the figures in the speed rating department alone. This gelding has room to improve, especially with first time Lasix. DOUBLE DRAW - Recently Campbell has been tearing it up, which may give the edge to this gelding in this event. Have to support a solid standardbred coming out of the Presque Isle 4 hole. The ROI is tremendous.

(2) MYSTERY XPOSED could be back on track after a nice effort last out. (3) HERECOMESTHECHIEF has yet to win on the year but is ready with a smooth trip. (4) FORTUNE SAILOR faces much easier and has the best late kick in the field.

Race 2

(7) HOOREI FOR FLASH needs to find a way into the race but has an outside shot against an inconsistent bunch. (1) DR JACKS SHACK seven-year-old gelding gets the best post, drops in class, but gets a very suspect driver. (2) HERE COMES WHITEY could be in a good spot to hit the board late but is probably best used underneath.

Race 3

In a wide open and evenly matched race (3) VICTORY CANDY MAN should offer a good price jumping up in class and has been competitive at this level. (2) ELIAN'S VICTORY was a dominant winner last out but faces much tougher; threat. (1) NORMA'S ROSE has tons of gate speed but lacks stamina late.

Race 4

In another tough race to handicap (4) FOX RIVER MARK went a big effort last out just missing at a huge price and benefits from a much better pilot. (5) KENNAIRN LIFE SIGN will also offer a big price and just needs some racing luck to have a chance to hit the board late. (9) CRUISE ON OSBORNE has been pacing some decent miles and will get a ground-saving trip.

Race 5

(9) CHROME SEELSTER gets a good driver change and has shown more consistency than most in the race. (5) SASSY OSBORNE burned cash last out from a tough post. The 4-year-old pacer will offer a much better price and races better forwardly placed. (3) WESTERN CHURCHILL never got into the mile last out also as a heavy favorite but could be the horse to beat with an effort prior to his last.

Race 6

(9) ANNIE'S ROCKETMAN will be looking for the top early and has been sharp. (1) HELLO CARLO is very inconsistent from week to week but should get an aggressive drive from the rail. (3) MISS LULU BELLE went a monster effort up in class last out. The trotting mare faces easier and would hit the board with a similar effort.

Race 7

(4) SKULL OF ROSES could be a great play coming off the fair lines and has beaten much better this year. (1) OSBORNE'S YANKEE veteran pacer drops in class and looks to be one of few threats to the top choice. (2) GEM HEIST is on a roll for a hot barn but will need more to hit the top spot bumping up in class.

Race 8

(2) GUN SHOW is winless on the year but should offer the better price and has been racing against much better competition. (1) LITE ME UP was ultra impressive off a long layoff and would be tough to deny with any kind of improvement second start back. (4) ACTION METRO MAX has been very disappointing getting consistently picked off late; command a price.

Race 9

(3) LB'S ALAMERICANJOY has been improving for proven connections and has yet to show his best. (2) BESTINTHEBUSINESS has more ability than the majority of the field but could be a question mark on the small track. (5) THE CLASSIC Z TAM could barely get around the track in two minutes at the beginning of the year. However the pacer has excelled for the new connections and is tough to leave off the ticket off his last line.

Race 10

(2) TRUE TO MACH has been unstoppable in his last two and faces an easier bunch. (3) CHASE THE SUN gelding went a huge effort from a tough spot last out and could be formidable if he makes the front. (1) THORN IN YOUR SIDE should be sitting in a great spot turning for home.

Race 11

(7) SUPER LUSTRE finds a much easier spot and just needs a smooth trip for a big chance late. (5) ZORGWIJK HEAVENLY has also been facing some tough customers and should be out and rolling early in the mile. (6) DIAMOND HUNTER gelding has an outside shot, owns a ton of back class, and was really good last out.

Race 12

(7) GRANDE SEELSTER went a winning effort last start despite not closing ground on the leaders. The pacer could be on the upswing and has the right pilot to find a way into the race at a price. (9) ALLAMERICAN PEWTER didn't miss by much to a better group; threat. (1) BEANS AND WEENIES gets a good post and has the ability with a trip.

Race 13

(5) FOREVER GOOD drops out of the Open and could look to hit the top early; big chance. (2) MORELAND FLASH looks terrible on paper but would have been a favorite in this race not too long ago. (6) REBEL JET five-year-old gelding raced well coming off a layoff and should improve with a start under his belt.

Race 14

(2) CYCLONE ASHORE gets sent out for a streaky trainer that has been hot as of late. (1) KEVLAR HANOVER is just now rounding back into racing shape and has a lot of gate speed to utilize from the rail. (5) NO SHENANIGANS gelding has been dominating this level but could have a target on his back and will offer low value.

Race 15

(7) HEZA STAR CRUISER takes a significant drop in class but still should offer a nice price in a tough race to handicap. (2) MILLIONDOLLAR ART was competitive against much better and finds a spot to do some damage. (1) FUDGE well-bred pacer just races evenly and is probably best used underneath even with top connections.

SHORTEST DISTANCE looks great to best this field of starters. Overall numbers appear really strong. Can't throw out at this point. Could provide us a triumph based on very good recent speed ratings - earning an average of 79. With a 78 average class number, this standardbred has one of the strongest class advantages in the group. MIDNIGHT MASS - The group keenly points out that when Harp trains this race horse, the odds of finishing hitting the board go way up. Could very well be the finest in the group here, showing formidable ratings of late. Avg speed is a solid 78. SLICKETY SPLIT - Good for a win bet just off the fantastic prior class rankings. Have to like this nice horse. Can't miss the connections here, a 24 winning clip, one of the most compelling at getting into the winners circle.

Race 1

(6) CAROUSEL HALL raced in the Canadian Breeders Championships eliminations just two starts ago and finds herself in a much lower class which she's very capable of winning. (4) J MARIE comes from the Ben Baillargeon barn, shows terrific gate-speed and has hit the board in three of her last four starts. (5) NOBLE FLIRT shows the speed, comes from the Charalambos Christoforou barn, which has been very good this season and draws in the middle of the gate.

Race 2

(5) THE WAYFARING MAN was exceptional in his first career start as he finished second in a dead heat, timed in 1:52 4/5. (2) AMORA BEACH draws inside, comes from the Dave Menary barn and finished second last week with The Wayfaring Man in a dead-heat. (3) SOME POWER comes from the Casie Coleman barn, draws well and was a beaten favourite last week in this lone division.

Race 3

(2) DANCIN CAROLL looks like another young star from the first crop sire of Sportswriter as the talented miss has offered quick speed this season although has yet to find the winners circle. (1) CODE ONE HANOVER draws inside and is fresh off a win in the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold division for trainer/owner Jack Darling. (5) SHES A PANSATION has started off her career in fine form for trainer Jeff Gillis as the No Pan Intended filly has yet to miss the board from two starts.

Race 4

(4) RANSOM DEMAND comes from the Brad Maxwell barn and is very capable of winning this class and notch his first career win. (2) HOW TWEET IT IS was timed in 1:52 1/5 two starts back on this circuit and that makes him a prime contender in here. (3) DECISIVE DESTINY hasn't missed the board in each of his four career starts and comes from the Shawn Robinson barn and gets Hall of Famer Steve Condren in the bike.

Race 5

(9) CAVIART GRIFFIN draws outside for a fourth week in a row, but raced very well last week while being parked the entire mile to finish second. (2) HEADSAREGONNA TURN draws inside and is fresh off a win for trainer/co-owner Patrick Sweeney. (10) AMERICAN SUPERMAN comes from the Gregg McNair barn and is capable of overcoming post 10 with his quick gate-speed and recent win on July 21 in 1:58 3/5.

Race 6

(3) P L IMPRESSIVE raced very well in her lone start of her career last week in an Ontario Sires Stakes division here at Mohawk. (9) TALULA SEELSTER was a $28K yearling purchase for trainer Mark Austin and the Camluck miss finished a game second in her first career start last week at Georgian Downs. (10) GET LUCKY might be the post time favourite or close to it when the gates unfold, but asking a two-year-old filly to overcome post 10 in her first career start is asking a lot.

Race 7

(9) SILVERHILL SHADOW has won two straight, comes from the Dr. Ian Moore barn and was a recent winner in the Canadian Breeders Championship against the top sophomore pacers in Ontario. (1) VICTOR BAYAMA draws inside and has yet to miss the board from three starts this season. (5) STEADY WARRIOR perhaps put forth his best effort of the season for trainer/co-owner Wayne McGean with a second-place finish last week, timed in 1:51 1/5.

Race 8

(5) PROTEGE SEELSTER has been a main threat in this class for many weeks and was a winner two starts ago. (3) SAM HAYES has eight wins from 24 starts this season, which shouldn't get overlooked as he raced mostly at Rideau Carleton Raceway. (8) DESIGNER GENES was put on the front last week and didn't fare out well.

Race 9

(9) JET AIRWAY is the horse to beat after finishing fifth in The Meadowlands Pace, timed in 1:47 3/5. (1) HUNCH MAN gets the rail this week for trainer Bob Young and has been racing very well as of late. (8) PLAY IT AGAIN SAM has hit the board in two of his last three starts, comes from the Dr. Ian Moore barn and gets Jody Jamieson in the bike.

Race 10

(7) DOCS HOSS has been the king of this class for many weeks as the son of Cams Eclipse has won four of his last five starts, including two straight coming into this contest. (2) BUDDYS HOPE was a winner in this class last week, draws inside and comes from the Vic Puddy barn. (1) PASSIONATE PETE gets the rail in his favour this week and has hit the board in four of his last five starts.

Race 1

(7) CF STING REI has shown some signs of life in his last few and he looks like he's got as good a shot as any in this dreadful field. (4) TIME STOOD STILL may show more with the change in venue. (1) EIGHT TEN EOM gapped and never responded last out but at least he does draw well again.

Race 2

(8) GO JESSE GO drops back down in class for a hot barn and he's got the early speed to overcome the poor post. (1) NOWERLAND FIREBIRD was a solid winner versus similar in last and he would appear pretty logical here. (6) NICE DREAM was a good second two back at this basement claiming level.

Race 3

(6) CUTTY SHARK returns to Brennan after being hung to dry last out. (2) FEELIN CORNERED picks up Sears and draws better. (3) WHO DAT LOVE hasn't won in two years but he's been facing better out of town.

Race 4

(6) KEYSTONE RIDEAU returns locally and the veteran has faced better than these in the past. He's my top pick in a race where I don't really have any strong opinion. (4) HARNESSNITENCANADA has the talent but he's awfully erratic. (1) STONEBRIDGE BONUS draws best and should be able to land a share.

Race 5

(2) MIDNITE CRAZE has been tearing it up out of town and he deserves a shot racing for better money. (4) TEACH ME TO BUCKY took the money and delivered upon arrival for Heidi Rohr; main threat. (3) CREDIT TO ELGIN broke in her last two local races.

Race 6

(1) MAJOR DANCER took the Town Pro at Mohawk and a NYSS test at Saratoga in stellar fashion; Casie Coleman trainee looms a short price from this spot. (4) BLUSH HANOVER has been very consistent for Toscano. (5) ALI BLUE is getting a late start to her three-year-old season and she will likely need a race.

Race 7

(3) IT WAS FASCINATION has shown major improvement in her last handful of races and the Alagna-trained filly has a big shot here. (2) SPREESTER has been no worse than second in her last handful of starts; Morrill, Jr. drives again. (8) KEN DOLL J faces an uphill climb from this spot but she's shown ability when she stays flat.

Race 8

(1) CARLOTA BLUE CHIP draws best in what looks like the weakest of the three NYSS divisions and Brennan should be sitting a perfect trip with her. (6) MEDUSA should be forwardly placed for her best chance. (2) SKY ARTIST had no chance last week from the outside post; she will be closer to the action tonight.

Race 9

(1) MACHTOTHEMOON has hit the board in his last three at this level and he appears ready to advance. (2) TYLER is back in a better spot after being overmatched in his last two. (4) ROLANDALE BUSTER was an easy winner versus these last out and it would be no surprise if he repeated.

Race 10

(6) ROCKNROLL MEG bottomed badly from the pocket last out but her prior effort was good; give her another chance. (5) PITA ships in for Simpson and she may fit well here. (7) ROCKLINDAROCK was tons the best in last but it may be tough to accept a short price tonight from this spot.

Race 11

(3) FOREVER JUST finished steadily though was outfinished last week versus better; Auciello trainee appears overdue. (5) FLIPPER J moves in a couple of slots and should be more involved. (7) UNCLE SMOOTHIE ended up extra crispy after that speed duel last out; he's likely coming from off the pace tonight.

Race 12

(6) SEAFOOD ANNIE just missed last out and has been fairly consistent with this type; maybe. (2) FREETIME can't win up in Maine going for $3,500 so it's tough to endorse her on top racing for a $21K purse tonight but she does appear pretty logical from this spot. (4) LOOKOUT STOKK ZONE has been a steady earner for Floyd Pratt.
