RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 3 MS RUTHLESSWARRIOR 5/2

# 8 BOW STREET RUNNER 3/1

# 4 PICKHERORMISS 5/1

My selection for this event is MS RUTHLESSWARRIOR. Will most likely come out strong - I have liked the way this mare has moved quickly to the lead recently. BOW STREET RUNNER - Shows reliable Equibase Speed Figures on average overall when compared with the rest of this group of horses in this race. She has a good opportunity for this event as trainer, Clouston, has strong win clip with horses going this distance. PICKHERORMISS - Has been running soundly lately and will most likely be close to the front end early on. This filly has been consistently racing well in her latest outings.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 7 DION O MITE 2/1

# 3 KING ARCHIBALD 10/1

# 8 FOLLIA 4/1

DION O MITE is my choice. This gelding with Lambert in the irons makes him a solid choice. Looks formidable versus this group of horses in this race and should be one of the leaders. Garnered a sound speed rating in the last race. Can run another good one in this affair. FOLLIA - Has to be carefully examined - I like the figures from the last affair.

Parx Racing - Race #8 - Post: 4:04pm - Starter Allowance - 6.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $35,000 Class Rating: 95

#6 HERE'S A JETPACK (ML=8/1)
#7 BULLY SONG (ML=12/1)
#8 WILDCATPLEASURES (ML=7/2)
#4 CHEROKEE PASS (ML=5/1)

HERE'S A JETPACK - This gelding is in top condition right now. Finished second last race out and comes back promptly. I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run his best in the 3rd or 4th start back. The 94 last race speed figure looks mighty good in the TrackMaster PPs. BULLY SONG - My handicapping 'sense' tells me to be on the alert for this horse in this race WILDCATPLEASURES - This thoroughbred coming off a nice race in the last 30 days is a serious competitor in my humble opinion. The ROI when Castillo and Navarro get together is tremendous. Trainer, Navarro, has been deliberate with this colt off the layoff. Look for a solid effort today. CHEROKEE PASS - This gelding is in fine form, having run a good race on June 15th, finishing first. This racer loves the track here at Parx Racing.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 SHEIKINATOR (ML=5/2), #3 HANNIBAL LECTER (ML=4/1), #1 PROPER FREUD (ML=6/1),

SHEIKINATOR - Generally I need a sprinter to have some success lately in short distance races in order to support him. I checked out this horse's past performances and he doesn't do well as the public's top choice and is likely to be favored today. HANNIBAL LECTER - If today's event shapes up right, all the speedballs will force a ferocious pace battle early. Too bad this horse is one of those front runners. Ran a great speed rating in the last race, but the struggle will probably take too much out of him. PROPER FREUD - Could be tough for this racer to beat this field off of that last speed rating. Improbable to improve enough to run a figure anywhere near today's class rating, so put him on the likely underpriced contenders list.

#2 SHOT OF KELA (ML=8/1)
#3 DESIGNATOR (ML=9/2)
#6 ZIPCO (ML=4/1)

SHOT OF KELA - I'm expecting this mount to run a good one this time around. DESIGNATOR - This gelding is in good form. Ran third on Jun 29th. ZIPCO - Several positive 'vibes' attached to this thoroughbred and his barn.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 HOUR BY HOUR (ML=7/2), #9 BURI (ML=5/1),

HOUR BY HOUR - The result of ninth in the last affair shows me that this horse may be tailing off. Hasn't been on the Thistledown oval in the last three weeks. Cause for some concern. BURI - Notched a pedestrian speed figure in the last race in a $4,000 Claiming race on June 19th. Improbable to see an improved performance off of that figure.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Putting our cash on #2 SHOT OF KELA to win. Have to have odds of at least 7/2 or better though

Monday's six-pack

What college football expert Phil Steele thinks about the Pac-12 South Division

6) Colorado-- Other five teams in division finished in top 25 last year.

5) Arizona-- Only 6 starters back; 49-45 win over Cal LY was an amaziing game.

4) Utah-- 14-22 in Pac-12; eight offensive coordinators in last 11 years.

3) Arizona State-- 16 returning starters, plus some quality JC players were added.

2) UCLA-- 18 returning starters, but a new QB. Hopefully the celeb parents won't get in any more scuffles with the strength coach.

1) USC-- Senior QB, sanctions are over but they're still under 85 scholarship limit.

'At the break'

St Louis is not only the best in the majors with its 56-33 record, the Cardinals also hit the mid-point the best bets stuffing +$1840 into betting accounts split between 31-11 (+$1636) at Busch Stadium, 25-22 (+$204) in hostile territory. Cardinals don't cross many over home plate averaging 3.9 runs/game but make it up with the league's top rated pitching staff allowing a shade over 2.5 runs/contest. Backing Cardinals following a one run exact loss has been money in the bank as they're 12-2 in the situation (+$1004). Also keeping bettors happy are the Minnesota Twins pocketing +$1760 overall. Twins have been underdogs 29 times at home winning 21 of those contest picking up a whopping +$1676 at the betting window. At the lower end of the scale, Philadelphia (29-62) has been the worst bet dropping -$2360 to this point. No surprise, Phillies don't put up much of a fight when they are big underdogs, going just 4-19 when listed at +$1.70 or higher. The next biggest money burner, Oakland draining account to the tune of -$1713. Home Cookin' has not been good for Oakland. The A's have cost backers -$1653 at O.co Coliseum including -$1573 when chalk.
