I will keep this very short and sweet, as I don’t want to do some extensive writeup that might lead anyone to believe I’m in love with this play. But here’s what I’ve got.

Both teams are off big efforts. Minnesota upset the Thunder and Phoenix threw a major scare into the very heavily favored Warriors. So both playing out the string teams could be in a flat spot here. Perhaps the difference is that when the Suns don’t show up, they really don’t show up, if you catch my drift.

This one is more on my number than anything else. I made Minnesota -2.5 for this game, and they’re currently a one-point underdog. Of the four games that are currently on the NBA betting board as I’m writing this piece, that’s the biggest differential. And that’s all I can really say without going into complete grasping at straws mode as far as this game goes. I’ll make the Timberwolves +1 the Bonus Play for Monday’s action.

Reason: Your Bonus Play for Monday, March 14, 2016 is in the NBA scheduled contest between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Utah Jazz. Both these clubs playing the second of a back-to-back spot here tonight. The Cavs had little trouble at the Clippers on Sunday, winning 114-90. The Jazz also had an easy win, with a 108-99 victory at Sacramento. Heading into the home stretch of the regular season, I would expect to see the Cavs rest players a bit more. However, Toronto is hot on their heals for the top spot in the East, just 2 1/2 games back. The Utah Jazz find themselves 2 1/2 games back of both Houston and Dallas for the final playoff spot in the West. The Jazz haven't been doing well though, covering just two of their last 10 games. In addition, the team has won just three S/U of those 10. The Cavs have covered five of their last six games. If Toronto wasn't so close, I'd look for Lebron to get more rest in this contest. Either way, I like the Cavs here tonight at Utah.
