4 Unit Play. #520. Take Elon +14 over Davidson (Monday @ 7pm est). Elon University is just as good as any dog out there today for us as we kick off our goal to win 7 of 9 weeks in college ball after a winning week in cbb last week going 4-3. Elon has its Senior Night tonight against Davidson and its by no accident that they have scheduled Davidson on senior night. Emotions will be high and Elon will look to step up here as they played fairly well against Davidson on the road earlier this year losing 68-83 easily covering the 22 points they were getting. Stephon Curry had a monster 39 points in that game at home. Well, if Elon can lose by 15 points on the road and actually outscored Davidson 44-37 in the second half on the road, I feel like they can start off this game well, be less intimidated, have the crowd behind them and hang in the 14 point spread here. You would be surprised at the bite Elon has at home as they have defeated the likes of Southern by 14 points, Western Carolina by 6, Furman by 8 and did beat Southern on the road by 3 and Charleston by 6. Elon does have some scoring potential with the likes of Chris Long, Devan Carter, Josh Bonney and Seniors Ola Attoyebi and Brett James who play their last home game today. I like the fact that the total is 138 here and the fact we are catching 14 of those points. Let's roll with Elon today as the public favors Davidson to a tune of 65% to 35% and let's take the points as Elon comes off a big loss as they return home and Davidson comes off a huge win over Georgia Southern. Davidson is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and Elon is 5-0 ATS when facing a team with a straight up winning record. Elon has covered the last 4 times these two teams have met and this will be a tough spread for Davidson to cover on the highway here. I haev Elon likely losing by 8 to 10 points here.
4 Unit Play. Take Under 201 between the Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (Monday @ 8pm est). The Pacers pull through outright last night against Denver at home. Let's keep it going with our 3rd straight NBA Winner with the Under today in OKC. The last time these two teams met was an exciting game which went into overtime with Dallas winning 110-108. The game in regulation scored at 190. However, it seems the public assumes that this game is going to be high scoring as the last game was (some not realizing it went to OT) and many are still forgetting that there will be no Durant for this contest. Durant was instrumental in OKC being competitive in the game at Dallas. I actually think that OKC will be very competitive in this game which is why 70% might get buried backing the Mavs on the road. On that same token, I do believe that 201 points is a bit high considering there will be no Durant and Dallas is not a road team with a lot of prowess for offense on the highway. Let's not forget this Dallas team scored 76 at San Antonio, 86 at Houston and 87 Utah. In short, on the highway, this team lacks offense. OKC did defeat Memphis on the road successfully without Durant as Westbrook and Green took the load scoring over 50 points combined of OKC's 99 points in that game. That game totaled at 191 and went under the total of 198. Bear in mind both of these teams have no depth because of injuries and of course, there is no Jason Terry in this contest. Look for both teams to score in the mid to high 80's today as the Under is 9-0 for the Mavs when they are road favorites of 5 to 10 points and the under is 7-3 for the Thunder when they are home dogs by this margin as well.
