NBA forum only has a few weeks left until the offseason anyway.
In general you always get attention whores, we saw it during NFL season, we saw it during CBB season too, nothing anyone can really do about it.
In general, if you are posting picks, there should be common standard. Like the date of the picks, and your record and that's it. Nothing like "UNDEFEATED ON THE SEASON, LOCKS OF THE YEAR IN HERE!!!"
to find an idiot who's gone 3-0 in the middle of the season.

Trek registered on April 16th and seems to have a case of forumitis (445 posts already). Should we ban him for being enthusiastic?

Many say move this or edit that but are the first ones to cry "why is my thread in the Rubber Room" when it happens to them.

You say there has been a ton of garbage in the NBA Forum un-noticed by the mods for an extended period of time - did you ever think maybe what you consider garbage someone else might consider a contribution. These newer posters have a way of learning the ropes in time, sometime it can be a painful process for other posters who choose to read their threads.

The Newbie forum is for asking questions and such. Many new posters just jump into posting in the sport forums because they don't have any questions or have posted at other sites. There are no minimum post requirements (except Tracker Forum) for newbies to start threads in any forum. I am seen countless newbie posters evolve into good posters in time and hopefully this poster Trek will be one of those.

Mods should be vigorously policing the pick forums and quickly moving drivel of no value. Instead, the mods attention, editing, and moving seems to be much more proactive in the main thread and political thread.

Ass backwards, IMO. The pick forums are the engine that drives the Rx and should be kept running like a well-oiled machine. The rest of the stuff is just entertainment for those of us with no lives---kind of like a corner bar where we can debate, vent, and sometimes brawl.

PPeter, actually until last week Politics was a totally unmoderated and pretty much turned into a free for all. Threads got moved if they were reported but that is it. I am hoping to save the forum from becoming obsolete for the Rxers that do have interests in politics and world events. Those subjects are also part of the corner bar discussions that you mention.

The sport forums are heavily moderated but it is impossible to catch every little bit on nonsense that gets posted in the various sport forums. Yesterday there were over 170 active threads going in the NBA and Basbeall forums alone.

These days in the Offshore forums there are many Off Topic threads started everyday - only a few very off topic threads get moved here. Inter-Forum drama will also end up here.
