Bellator
Brandon Halsey over Alex Schlemenko -110 2x
Halsey is the real deal - young, brash, big for this weight, tough as nails. Obviously the strategy here will be to take Alex down and work sub or GnP. Not an easy feat for the young man, but I believe he gets 'er done.
Patricky Pitbull over Marcin Held -105 2x
Classic case of better striker vs supreme grappler. Patricky will need to use his distance well and limit his single leg kicks. Look for Marcin to try to pull guard and dive for his nasty leg/foot attacks.
Bubba Jenkins/Thiago Meller under 2.5 +150 2x
The stand-up will likely be a toss up in this fight, although I may give Bubba the slight edge since he's likely been working it primarily with such a decorated wrestling background. Thiago is highly confident off his back and Bubba will look to ground and pound if the opportunity presents itself or if he's losing on the feet. These two rarely fight to decision and Bubba by TKO or Thiago by sub is really the only way I see this one going.
Mike Richman over Ed West -240 1x
Both of these guys are looking to get back to it losing 3 of their last 4 each. Mike is similar to Dustin Poirier of the UFC - very well rounded, tough kid, always just outside of the title shot. Ed West is a grappler first and will get lit up on the feet here.
UFC - this is the best card in a few years, IMO. With that said, it'll probably be a dud.
Not Cody Gibson by decision over Manny Gamburyan -160 2x
Manvil will be the stronger and more seasoned fighter. This is his first trip to 135. If this is a grappling battle, it will be Manny on top. If it's a striking battle, Manny will get over-anxious and will probably get caught by the more patient and better striker in Gibson.
Jon Tuck over Kevin Lee +235 1x
Both interesting prospects. I think Jon has the advantage almost everywhere. Better jiu jitsu, better striker, always shows up ready. Kevin is a young kid and this is just a little too much a little too soon.
Not John Howard by decision over Brian Ebersole -135 2x
Brian Ebersole has 68 fights - good lord. Howard will overwhelm him, but Ebersole is crafty. If Howard is too much for him, it'll be over, but I give the decision advantage to Ebersole, who has decision wins over the likes of Chris Lytle and Carlos Newton.
Stephen Thompson inside distance over Patrick Cote +110 3x
One guy going up in his career and one going back down. Cote is just the guy for Wonderboy to show off a spinning jumping rear wheel axe kick that will take Cote's head clean off his shoulders and will result in Wonderboy's jumping, spinning ninja dance. I can't wait.
Jorge Masvidal by 3 round decision over James Krause -125 2x
Masvidal is better, but Krause is durable everywhere.
Dominick Cruz by 3 round decision over Mizugaki -160 2x
Can't wait to see Dom back in it. He doesn't finish very often, but his footwork and speed is second to none. Love watching this guy fight.
Amanda Nunes over Cat Zingano +245 2x
Cat's come from behind win over Miesha just doesn't look as impressive as it once did. It's been 18 months since that fight, Cat has lost her husband tragically, and she's been dealing with so many things in her life, I have a feeling we see her come out flat.
Tim Kennedy over Yoel Romero +125 3x
This is the best wrestler Tim has faced. Truth. But Yoel hasn't been super impressive against the tougher guys he has faced - lost to Feijao in '11, come from behind against Brunson who was destroying him earlier this year, and a boring decision over Brad Tavares this year. Tim is world's better than all those guys.
Dustin Poirier over Connor McGregor +255 2x
Don't buy the hype. Conor is getting what he thinks he wants, but I'm not sure this is what he wants. MMA Math does not work, but watch the ground game of Dustin Poirier vs Max Holloway and then watch the ground game of Conor vs the same opponent. Dustin wins by sub here.
Eddie Alvarez over Donald Cerrone +105 1x
Love this fight. Betting for action. Love both of these guys. You can't lose here.
Demetrious Johnson inside distance over Chris Cariaso -125 3x
DJ is way too much for Cariaso. Ali was juiced by like a racehorse, but most guys at Fly, DJ finishes in a 5 round fight.
So many great fights - can't wait.
Good luck on your fades, err... I mean plays.
