NYY basically co-favorites to win the AL penant (around +275) and Cleveland is around +600.
But Yankees are dogs on the series line? I'm seeing -103

What gives? :think2:

That is a very good question .
Only thing I can think of is maybe Stanton and Judge won’t be 100% till the next round and if they can get through the first round they become a much better team after that

First round is 3 game series and Cleveland may have a pitching edge. After that I believe 5 and 7 game series. Short series gives the dog more of a chance which is why Cleveland advancing further has higher odds than just considering this one 3 game series

Short series, home field, and they have the better pitchers.

I think the point HC is making is if all the above you say is true well then why isn’t Cleveland a bigger fav then NY to win it all.

What you say does not answer that question .

If it was a 1 game series, Bieber vs Cole, what would you make the line?

I think the logic in the line is that Cleveland's top 3 is better than New York's top 3, but that New York's team is better.

Yeah, makes sense I guess. Still seems out of wack to me.

Cleveland better bulit for a shorter series with better pitching plus home. yankees better bet to win in longer series, plus if guys get healthy. weird regardless

Bieber 1.23 ERA at home. I don't trust Cole. If Yankees win game 1, Cleveland is done though.

We know the answer to that question, game 1 line is -110 both ways.
Yeah logic makes sense I guess...but +275 vs +600 is saying to me that NYY team is MUCH better, so surprised they are not at least like -130.

I’ll make this prediction .

No team will overcome being down 1-0 in any series .

Game 1 gonna be so huge in every series

With 8 different series I'm going to guess you're wrong. But we'll see. It qualifies as a bold prediction.

I’ll make a line and post it in this thread and take bets if the Braves win game 1 lol.

I can’t bet against my Braves lol

Cleveland not even favored in game 1.
so they are essentially favored in games 2/3
They are favored, albeit slightly, in the series with Bieber/Cole advantage and game 1 at home notwithstanding

For this line disparity to make sense you’d expect Cleveland to be favored in game one pretty heavily, -150ish
