Hi Mich, I see at least you won on baseball, it was a frustrating day with horses for me , had chances to win but just came up short and last second I saw the trainer angle without checking his possibility and bet small, should have banged that good, good luck in bases
Awful day at the horses for me, Joe. I'm not likely to do good when:
1) there is no turf racing
2) there are a million scratches
3) off the turf but not on a sloppy or muddy track where I can get a little edge back
4) short fields in general kill the odds needed to play some longshots (instead of being 20-1 in a 10 or 12 horse field they are 6-1 in a five, six, or seven horse field)
Your trainer angle probably holds up regardless of conditions. Not so for much of the stuff I'm looking for to indicate readiness.
Thank God I got them good on Friday.
Hopefully we'll get fast and firm this weekend, Joe. That helps my handicapping a lot.
As for Bases, I've been chasing what I do to arrive at these picks for quite a while. I got it to where I had a real good year last season. I was supposed to write down everything I was doing with nuances and exceptions. But I got caught up with NFL season and lazily figured I'd remember the whole methodology in the spring at the resumption of Bases. I've been struggling to get back to where I was last year because I didn't take the several hours necessary to write everything down. My bad. And I've been paying for it.
But if you saw what I wrote when I posted the games Saturday I really expected to win between Saturday and Sunday. I've been doing this long enough to know when things set up well. They don't always.
Anyway, salvaging this baseball season would be getting into the black before it closes out at the end of September. I'm still optimistic. But it sucks that I'm not in positive territory yet.
Thank God things worked out yesterday. I needed that day to fulfill my expectations going 9nto Saturday.
Good luck, Joe. Thanks for stopping by.
