^^^ Who remember that prick at the all star game one year with the big ass net that picked off like 7 balls

Its been a while.

He was reading a book the whole time and would look up when a ball was rolling his way.

Astros' Ronel Blanco suspended for foreign substance in glove.

Houston Astros pitcher Ronel Blanco, who was ejected from Tuesday's game after umpires found a foreign substance on his glove, has been suspended 10 games by MLB, it was announced Wednesday.
Blanco also was fined an undisclosed amount.
The suspension is pending Blanco's decision to appeal. If he opts not to, it will become effective Wednesday night, when the Astros continue their series vs. Oakland.
Third-base umpire Laz Diaz ejected Blanco after a check of his glove before he threw a pitch in the fourth inning. His glove was confiscated and was sent to the commissioner's office.
"I felt something inside the glove," first-base umpire Erich Bacchus said. "It was the stickiest stuff I've felt on a glove since we've been doing this for a few years now."
Blanco denied using an illegal substance.
"Just probably rosin I put on my left arm," he said in Spanish through an interpreter. "Maybe because of the sweat it got into the glove and that's maybe what they found."
Manager Joe Espada added that when he went to the mound he saw "white powder" inside Blanco's glove.
"It looked to me when I grabbed the glove [that] there was some rosin," Espada said. "You're not allowed to use rosin on your non-pitching hand, and that's what it looked like to me. It was a little bit sticky with the moisture and the sweat, but that's what it looked like to me."
Blanco held out his hands and patted them together in front of the umpires while they inspected his glove before he was ejected, and he did the motion again after he was tossed.
"What I told them is, 'If you found something sticky in my glove you should also check my hands because it should also be on my hand,'" Blanco said. "'Just check my hand,' and he didn't."
Blanco, who threw a no-hitter in his season debut, allowed four hits and struck out one in three scoreless innings Tuesday. He has a 2.09 ERA this season. The Astros led 1-0 when he was replaced by Tayler Scott.
MLB began cracking down on foreign substances in June 2021.

Pirates' Paul Skenes holds Cubs hitless before exit after 6.

CHICAGO -- Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Paul Skenes already is making history just two starts into his first major league season.
On Friday, the rookie struck out the first seven Chicago Cubs hitters he faced during an electric outing at Wrigley Field, his first big league appearance on the road, which led to a 9-to-3 victory for the Pirates.
Skenes, 21, retired the first 13 batters overall before walking first baseman Michael Busch in the fifth inning. Busch was the only baserunner to reach off Skenes, who pitched six innings without giving up a hit on 100 pitches. He struck out 11 overall.
The Cubs finally broke through with two outs in the seventh, when Christopher Morel hit an opposite-field single into right off reliever Carmen Mlodzinski.
Skenes' seven strikeouts to begin a game set a record for a Pirates pitcher and were second most behind Jacob deGrom (eight straight batters in 2014) and Jim Deshaies (eight straight batters in 1986) for the longest run by a rookie in MLB history. It also tied the fifth-longest streak to start a game in big league history.
Skenes' 18 strikeouts through his first two outings -- both against the Cubs -- are tied with Nick Maddox (1907) for the most by a Pirates pitcher over his first two career starts.
Skenes threw 12 pitches at 100 mph or faster Friday, while sprinkling in his secondary pitches in a dominant performance. He became the fifth rookie pitcher since the mound was extended in 1893 to have 10 strikeouts and no hits allowed in a game.
