First off, I went to Houston with a great friend who is from there, he is from the hood, been stabbed, shot and was smart enough to leave 20 years ago and never go back. First place we went after meeting up with his parents is his grandma's house which is located in an old hood. They developed it and his uncles and nieces were there and the first thing we do, is go to Church's Chicken. It was good but it was funny that was the first place that popped up lol. Second we stop to get beers and it is weird to me to see like a little liquor store in the middle of a neighborhood with 40 ouncers and such on display in the middle of the thing with ice piled up. So naturally we get a case and I get a 40 with a brown paper bag to boot.
Now as for the bubble, I will say it is a bit of a bubble this far north, little less in the Twin Cities, but besides the cold winters there is a lot to do here, violent crime is low, I own 80 acres of pretty decent hunting land, and I can go fishing on the Big Lake or find some real nice beautiful in land lakes. If you are a sportsman this place is paradise from May til December, then it's time to bunker in an ice shack with a bunch of beers. Also, there is no traffic, I keep my doors unlocked for the most part, we can go just about anywhere and bump into a friend, and the BEER is CHEAP!!
