Personally I can't believe how many fuckin jock sniffers there are out there for Favre. Gimmie a fuckin break. I applaud Mike McCarthy for telling Favre that the team turned the page. and rightfully fucking so!

I pray the Tampa Bay deal goes through and he starts so you can really see how WASHED UP he is cause he can't make heads or tails of Grudens offense.

You fucking people are seriously living a pipe dream.

And yes. Grant and the Packers defense carried that team last year. If you still don't believe it YOU FLATOUT DON'T KNOW FOOTBALL.

I know. Favre's 28 TD's had nothing to do with their 13-3 record.

BTW, pretty hard for Grant to carry the team last SEASON, when he wasn't even the starter until week 9.

Yeah, you know football.

It'd called a backup plan. If you're going to try and knock a guy at least get his name right. Rodgers, not Rogers, and there are actual Green Bay fans I know that go to the Training Camp and practices that have said he is better than Favre. All he needs is experience because right now he has better tools than Favre.

I could care less how he spells his last name...<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Wasting a second round pick on a back up plan is not normal. You get starters out of the first 3 rounds. Farve is the better option over fawkhead... GB just does not want anything to do with Farve.

I disagree. Mike McCarthy is doing what he thinks is best for the team and gives the Packers the best chance of winning.

Ask yourself this, if McCarthy thought Favre still had the skills why wouldn't he make him the starter? IMO, it was the other 52 members of that roster that guided Green Bay to the 13-3 record.

you don't think brett is better than a kid that has never played? isn't this the qb that guided the packers to OT in the nfc championship game.

the coach and gm don't want favre. the coach wants to run and play defense and the gm wants total control.
i'll tell you this, the packers better win with rodgers or the two of them will be looking for work next year.

It seems pretty obvious that Rodgers was told that he would be the starter, and they are sticking by that stance.

Brett had his chance at the job-in March.

McCarthy's head has gotten big since he's lucked into a bunch of wins the past couple of seasons while playing 6 games per year within arguably one of the worst divisions in NFL history. His ego will shrink a bit this season I bet because the Pack just isn't that talented. They have nice linebackers, but what else? Their two tackles and cornerbacks are great players, but they're getting up in years. Plus I'd be shocked if Ryan Grant has anything approaching the year he had last year now that he's been paid. I'm sure the Bears and Vikings are licking their chops now that they get to play Joey Harrington (Jr.) twice each year again.

I am not on Favres nuts at all. I just think it is horrible the way they treated a future HOF that was their team for 18 seasons. I understand why they want to move on, but this was very sad the way this all went down. They shouldve traded him form day 1 or released him if they didnt want himi back and live with it.

Gilbert Brown rips Mike McCarthy

Posted by Michael David Smith on November 10, 2009 3:56 PM ET
Former Packers defensive tackle Gilbert Brown says the team's loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday is the strongest sign to date that it's time for a new coach in Green Bay.

Speaking on WSSP in Milwaukee, Brown ripped Packers coach Mike McCarthy for the coaching job he's done this season.

"It is the head coach's fault," Brown said, per SportsRadioInterviews.com. "Everything that goes on starts with the big man upfront."

When it was pointed out to Brown that the Packers have personnel issues, which would seem to suggest that General Manager Ted Thompson is the problem, Brown said it's still McCarthy's job to find a way to win with the players he has.

"It doesn't matter," Brown said. "It doesn't matter with the talent and what you put on the field if you keep making mistakes week in and week out and you don't correct it and the same thing keeps going on."

Brown, who played with Brett Favre in Green Bay from 1993 to 2003, said the Packers' two losses to Favre and the Vikings doomed the whole season to failure.

"The Vikings have stole our swagger, period," Brown said. "Everybody on that team stole our swagger. Took our quarterback. Took our heart on Lambeau Field. Took our heart in front of millions of fans on TV. Then you go out and lose to an 0-7 team. The debacle started when they played the Vikings right there. The two Vikings games crushed the season."

Everyone likes to speculate about Shanahan going to Dallas, Washington, Chicago, etc.....But GB is where he will end up.

I will take him in Green Bay. They can fire that fat ass McCarthy right now. He never has a very good game plan, no discipline of his team, they make to many mistakes, special teams suck and the defense could not sack favre 1 time. Get rid of McCarthy NOW.

If they fire MM....GB has to be the fav for where Shanny ends up.

He's already turned down the 'skins (supposedly). I can't see him working for Snyder, nor wanting to build a team from the ground up.

Dallas has most of the pieces in place and Shanny does like Romo....But again, I can't see him working for/with JJ.

Cutler is his boy but is slowly turning into a coach killer...I don't think he'd go down that road again.

GB would be a great fit....High 2nd tier QB in his prime, lots of talent on O (just need to shore up the line some)....Decent enough defense. GB is a team that a coach like Shanny could have contending for the SB almost immediately.

SD is the only other team that fits...(from Shanny's POV). Plus he'd have 4 chances a year to stick to both Davis and Bowlen. There'd be great story lines all over the AFC West if he ended up in SD.
