Hate to tell you, he is a joke wiki him and read his whole story.
i wiki'd him. i don't listen to talk radio and must admit i had no idea who savage was (for some reason i was thinking of an old tv show called "growing pains"), but here you are, from wiki....
1) commenting on students who were
fasting in protest of Congress' failure to pass
immigration reform legislation, Savage declared, "I would say, let them fast until they starve to death.
yeah, let 'em starve. i mean, they're the ones who chose not to eat. we'll see how much they really care about the cause. reminds me of the clive barker short story where a guy kidnaps a girl who's a devote vegatarian, locks her up, gives her a fresh steak that she refuses to eat, but after a couple days and said steak is covered in maggots, she chows down.
2) as a writer of health and nutrition books in the 1980s, when he experienced "political opposition" after making the suggestion that the closure of
homosexual bathhouses might be necessary in response to the emerging
AIDS epidemic
isn't homosexuality one of the leading causes of AIDS, which according to everyone's standard is an epidemic?
3) Savage states that his opinions on
welfare were partly shaped by his first job out of college as a
social worker.
[17] He described one incident in which his supervisor had him deliver a check to a welfare client to furnish their apartment, while his apartment was furnished with cardboard boxes.
who can blame him for being upset about this? you bust your ass, starting out in the world, and someone else is living off your dime.... and living better than you. helping those in need is one thing; most of those who live on welfare decide to keep on living off the system, calculating everything they do so as not to screw up their 'guvment check.
just another shock jock, these guys get ratings by going above and beyond whether on the right or left of the fence, but sometimes it is a little too much. these guys gotta remember there's an element to our society that is highly impressionable....
