My immediate response upon hearing this rumor was :

of the top of my head only the death of GWB would be better.
This Jackass should have been executed years ago !
I did like his Thriller album ( at the time), still respect him as a musician, but not as a "being", can't even really call it human.
There are plenty more Peds to take his place... they just can't sing and dance as well.

Michael Jackson made MTV I remeber the night triller came out and they showed the video at midnight back then our house was the only one with cable and 45 kids pack our den to watch the video on the 19 inch RCA. Still have the RCA can't believe it lasted longer than MJ.
I think Mick Jagger would be bigger, Michael Jackson might have sold more records ( not sure), but, Mick still transcends generations... more know of Mick's music.
Jackson was more briefly ultra popular, Jagger/Stones ARE time in a bottle. I'd be very sad to see Mick pass. He appeals to me so much more musically, but Jackson did create some good music.
Who would have had a better tour in recent years ? I think the Stones, by far !
