In three short years as head coach at Stanford, Shaw is 34-7 and 23-4 in the 2nd toughest conference in college football.
In those three years, Stanford has won two PAC-12 titles including the Rose Bowl last year against Wisky.
But...he can't coach football according to a random poster on an internet gambling forum. Something tells me neither him nor Stanford's AD really care what you think.
He called bad game - I agree with that 100% but his record speaks for itself. And if he is not smart enough to coach, why is it because he is black? What determines a good coach? The coaches in 100 games this year have mismanaged time all year. Randy Edsall botches time management and calls all year for MD, Saban kicked a fg from deep and didnt have that right players on the field to make a tackle if returned, I could go on and on, white coaches and black coaches make bad decision. Your true bias is coming out as you are blaming race when a black coach fails but dont say that a coach is not as smart when a white coach fails
Stanford thought they were gonna outphysical and run the ball down their throat and stick to their identity, but the only problem was they were going against one of the best defenses in the country so it didn't work out......Shaw refused to adjust and it cost him....Stanford deserved to lose the game as it was kind of shocking they didn't have more faith in Hogan especially since he was 10-0 against ranked teams (that doesn't happen by accident)....As far as the Michigan State coach he has proven to be a really great coach as very early in the year they didn't even have an offense that resembled a Division I football team, but they improved a lot as the year went on so props to him...
As far as Shaw (yeah he was extremely stubborn today), but overall he has done a good job....For starters, he has beaten Oregon two years in a row....The first year people said Harbaugh left so Stanford will take a drop, but they didn't....Then they said it was cause of Andrew Luck was still there....So next year they were like no Luck and no Harbaugh so Stanford definitely gonna take a step down, but it didn't happen........Sure Shaw messed up today, but overall he has done a good job there maintaining the program after Luck and Harbaugh left especially since people expected a drop after those two left.

he was overly conservative, he was beaten because of it
when thinking of all the most successful coaches at either the college or pro level, they've all been aggressive and outside the box on a few occasions
on that last play, MSU was so sure he would run up the middle, they had 11 guys inside the box. They were standing on top of each other for heaven's sake. If the other team knows what you're going to do, if you did the same thing in similar situations in this very game and they stuffed you already and then you do the same thing again and they stuff you again, you were out-coached

Well, twist it anyway you want. In this thread, we're talking about one play not a drive to win the game.
They got beat by a better team. Illini, what else do you want me to tell you? Hogan should've checked out of the run and gone play action and thrown it deep? You and I both know that would be the dumbest play ever.
