:):)Do MLB managers even REALIZE that they have bullpens anymore? I'll never understand why they just concede defeat whenever their starting pitcher doesn't have it. Seriously, this could have been a competitive game if Girardi would have went to his pen in the 3rd, like he should have.

I honestly can't think of a single manager who knows how to manage a pitching staff.

You're right about that, but that's a mindset I've never understood. If the guy doesn't have it, he should be yanked so you give your team a shot to win. The manager should be managing the game, not worrying about the pitcher's feelings. Who cares if the pitcher gets upset that you take him out before he can qualify for a win. If he's getting bombed he's not going to get a win anyway.

cy nieve has a 1 hitter going! :ohno:

Yanks hitters took the day off. This is one of the reasons I feel it's so hard to win at baseball. I posted the same thing last night when the Blue Jays took the night off against Nolasco, who is one of the worst pitchers in the majors. A few nights before that, the Dodgers made Kevin Correia look like Cy Young. You just never know when teams are going to show up.

Yanks took the day off, but don't be surprised if they score a few meaningless runs at the end of the game. That's one thing you can typically count on. They usually go down swinging, which is more than I can say for most teams.

Alright we need the Mets to score 3 more and one of the Yanks to hit a meaningless HR in the bottom of the 8th or 9th on a tired Nieve.

A-Rod will pad his stats in the 8th with a meaningless solo homer

He's the KING of doing that...Nieve will serve him one in the 8th or 9th. The Mets bullpen will take the day off today..he'll go the whole game
