I'm for an open immigration policy, but it's all irrelevant if you don't secure the borders first

See I think that if you have an open immigration policy, along with roll backs on entitlements, the border will secure itself, or at least be easier to secure. Once you get rid of the vast majority which are crossing to come here to work, stopping the criminals will no longer be a needle in a hay stack.

one could argue it's a constitutional issue, one could argue the unborn child has constitutional rights, and that would make it a conservative position. (if one knows what conservative really means)

I believe abortions should banned in the last trimester, when the baby can survive outside the womb. I believe abortions should be allowed in the first trimester, when it's easy to argue it's not a person yet.

and I believe that's a sound conservative position, adhering to constitutional intent with respect to human rights

I'm pro life too, used to be hard core pro life, but I've come to the understanding that blindly banning abortions will not work. The way to end abortion is #1 You have to change the culture, and #2 You have to support innovations in science that make unwanted pregnancies obsolete.
