How many arrests were made in March and April? The first one I remember hearing about was the Texas hairdresser in the beginning of May after she received $18,000 in government handouts and then opened her business against government orders. Any examples before then? Since then there have been thousands.

This is a lie.

That woman opened her shop before any checks were sent out.

She and her sub hairdressers were hungry and about to be personally collapsed by their bills that were past due.

Did you offer to start a fund for her and the millions of small businessmen and women who had their legs cut off by an unconstitutional government edict? How 'bout the millions of people those small businesses employed?

Why were they targeted to pay a price that few other citizens were asked to pay?

Nothing pisses me off more than the very leaders who castrated these small businesses say, "we are all in this together." Bullshit.

She was approved for the money before she was arrested. She got the money between her arrest and sentencing. Someone who owns nine salons has a strong enough business to make it through this shutdown. It's possible the people who work for her might have struggled. That's what the $18,000 government handout was for. There was a gofundme for her, which was started before any arrest and eventually raised over $500,000. There are some people who were hit hard from coronavirus shutdown, this woman and her business is not one of them.

His daughter — who graduated from Santa Clara University in 2016 with plans to pursue a career in social work — was given a desk appearance ticket.

Graduated 4 years ago, sounds like she is still unemployed. And living with dad.
Sounds like a real winner.

what a slap in the face of the NYPD. These dudes are getting shot, dragged, run over, spit on, and hit in the head with bricks and due to Wilhelm-DeBlasio's insane law passed last year that you cannot hold burglars, even felony burglary, so they've all been released.

Hundreds of ‘looters’ to be cut loose

By 4 p.m., a majority of the 400 people arrested were awaiting arraignment and most will be hit with a felony burglary charge for which bail cannot be set, meaning they will be released.

NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan lamented that most of the looters arrested Monday night and early Tuesday morning would be “back out.”

“But when it comes to a burglary, which is a commercial store, which is looting, they’re back out,” he said.

“Because of bail reform, you’re back out on the street the next day. You cannot be held on any sort of bail. I spoke to (Manhattan District Attorney) Cy Vance about that. He told me there was nothing he could do,” he added.<strike></strike>

Amazing how in 6 years one incompetent Mayor can undo a city that took 30 years to make glorious.
