Saying "I like guys who don't get captured" is a jackass move any way you slice it. I think it shows how much people really loathe McCain that the backlash on that 1 wasn't bigger.

Who cares if he took a jab at you first? You can clearly criticize him about numerous subjects that have nothing to do with the fact he was captured in war. Especially if you decided to take a pass on said war because club orgy's in 1960s NYC were too good to passup.

That is pretty strong he somehow shifted "I like guys who don't get captured" to "the VA sucks and needs an overhaul" in like 3 days. Like someone said, he's been a politician his whole life. Now he is just running.

This seems like a smart move for Perry. For someone like Jeb or Walker to go after Trump basically gives him credibility and legitimizes him and it is too early to take the risk of doing that. For Perry though, he can make headway with people who think Trump is full of it.

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who has already emerged as one of the GOP presidential field’s most vocal critics of Donald Trump, ratcheted up his rhetoric again Wednesday as he slammed the real estate mogul’s presidential bid as a “cancer on conservatism” and warned that, left unchecked, Trump could be the demise of the Republican Party.
“He offers a barking carnival act that can be best described as Trumpism: a toxic mix of demagoguery, mean-spiritedness and nonsense that will lead the Republican Party to perdition if pursued,” Perry charged during an address at the Willard Hotel in downtown Washington. “Let no one be mistaken: Donald Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism, and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised and discarded.”

I hope Perry can remember all the reasons he's against Trump if they're on the same debate stage. :):). So far Perry has been the best voice for Sanity in the R party against Trump, and stands to benefit the most for going against him forcefully.

I notice this guy above gets posted a lot by people who are probably sitting upright and barely smirking.

Where Trump will fall is in the debates. He will dominate everyone except Cruz and Rubio. They have the ability to throw punch for punch and not come off as bombastic.

The sooner the field gets whittled down to 3 or 4 candidates the better it will be for the party.

Ever since he came onto the National scene as a 2012 candidate it's become apparent that
the "adjective smart & the phrase smart moves" do not fit in describing Perry. Even I was
hoping then that Perry was all at that time he was hyped up to be, the architect of the
Texas miracle creating half the new jobs in the US at the time.

Intrade as Perry entered the race immediately put him as a dual favorite with Romney
at 37% chance of winning. I was snowed by the hype & Put 50 down on Perry to win 80,
worst bet I ever made. In the 1st debate Romney made minced meat out of Perry & then
Perry to make matters worse bellowed that if he was president would eliminate 3 cabinets posts,
the only problem was he forgot which ones they were in front of the National audience.
His oops moment. My 50 dollares after that first debate I traded in to get $11 immediately,
he was toast never making it to the primaries.
.

Perry originally attended Texas A&M University to pursue a pre-veterinary major but switched to animal sciences, reportedly because of his low GPA.
But after Perry switched his major at the beginning of his fall semester in 1970, his grades didn’t improve. Perry got a C in Reproduction in Farm Animals, a C in genetics, a D in Feeds & Feeding, a C in Sheep & Angora Goat Production and two C’s in animal breeding classes.

A&M wasn't exactly Harvard on the Brazos River,” a classmate said. "This was not the brightest guy around. We always kind of laughed. He was always kind of a joke." In his defense, various extracurricular activities took up a fair amount of Perry’s time at school. He was elected a "yell leader," a highly sought-after role that at A&M is akin to a male cheerleader.

I think Trump had a point when he declared that Perry should be made to take an IQ test
before being allowed in the debates.

Mantis is a decent guy but definitely a sucker for political correctness.

Of course he's offended.

The start "political correctness" is captured in the Truman Library and Museum in Independence Missouri. On display are four telegrams between then-President Harry Truman and General Douglas MacArthur on the day before the actual signing of the WW2 Surrender Agreement in September 1945. The contents of those four telegrams below are exactly as received at the end of the war - not a word has been added or deleted!

Telegram (1) Tokyo,Japan

0800-September 1,1945
To: President Harry S Truman
From: General D A MacArthur
Tomorrow we meet with those yellow-bellied bastards and sign the Surrender Documents, any last minute instructions?

Telegram (2) Washington, D C

1300-September 1, 1945
To: D A MacArthur
From: H S Truman
Congratulations, job well done, but you must tone down your obvious dislike of the Japanese when discussing the terms of the surrender with the press, because some of your remarks are fundamentally not politically correct!

Telegram (3) Tokyo, Japan

1630-September 1, 1945
To: H S Truman
From: D A MacArthur and C H Nimitz
Wilco Sir, but both Chester and I are somewhat confused, exactly what does the term politically correct mean?

Telegram (4) Washington, D C

2120-September 1, 1945
To: D A MacArthur/C H Nimitz
From: H S Truman
Political Correctness is a doctrine, recently fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end!
