Wow Goosen had a double eagle of the first hole and then 3 more birdies on the front nine with no bogeys. Tiger finally got a birdie on #6 and he is currently at -1.

Goosen proves he is human with a bogey on the back nine. A couple of players completed their rounds in posted -3. Tiger still treading water at-1.

Roger that Taylor 13. Thanks for the clarification. Mcllroy is the man of the hour now with a bogey free round so far going inot the final holes. Poor Tom Watson is +3 after 2 however Fred Couples is hanging in for the Veterans of Augusta.

Past Champion Larry Mize was +3 after nine and managed three consecutive birdies on the back side of Amen Corner to get back to even. Love to see the older guys play well.

Tiger hit the ball well today. As the greens get faster and faster over the week, I think it will help his putting. He's at -1, pretty sure he would have taken that score before the round if it was offered. Right in the mix.

Y E Yang only one back with about 3 to play. Had a great approach on 15. See if he can put some birdies back to back for the lead.

Yes I thought Tiger went from Tee to Green without any major problems but his putting let him down especially with that close birdie he almsot drained on the back nine. Tiger right there in the hunt as expected.

Yes sir he is. It wouldn't provide me with my biggest chance at a payday if it happened....but I sure would like to see tiger and rory paired up in the final group on Sunday....see if rory is anything but a mouth

Until Tiger starts making putts he is not in the hunt. Today was setup as a good scoring day, and he didn't take advantage of it. By the end of the day he will be at least 6 behind, and behind several good players. The well wishers here are only breathing a sigh of relief that he didn't shoot over par.

You don't win a major on Thursday my friend. He should be at -3, you are correct. But I guarantee you he is fine with -1... this is how the top players play the majors....are you a golf follower or just a tiger basher? Your comments obviously lack golf knowledge

And since you obviously weren't watching today. He did make q few nice putt for pars. Great up and down from the bunker, saved par on 14 I believe where he had to hit high over trees, then flop shot to 4-5 feet. Most players would have played for bogey there

I realize I'm not " golf guy " like some of the experts in this thread, but what else is he going to say, besides thinking -1 is ok ? " Golf guy " does not need to tell me the major is not decided on Thursday, " thanks for that piece of knowledge " but I can tell you, Phil is looking at today as a opportunity to go low, not settling for -1 because your game and putting stroke is shaky. BTW this is a gambling forum and its not bashing Tiger, its who my money is on or not on! Your just a little senstivie becuase you are a Tiger homer.

Y E Yang had the tournament tied at -7 but could not kept the birdies going for the lead. Mickelson's ability to play out of trouble just floors me at times. He is a magician with those clubs. I think his putter has been sort of lackluster today as well. Maybe he can get a few down coming down the stretch. He is gonna have to make up ground at some point.
