The Marlins players did not follow protocol and hung out in bars together. The one environment that does appear to have the highest risk for spreading COVID-19, save for Cuomo's nursing homes, are bars.
Although I suspect many other athletes and teams and individuals also frequent bars and obviously don't catch COVID-19, the bar scenes with close proximity, no masks, touching, flirting.... can become a COVID-19 factory with one inflicted person in the mix
All these players will recover, it's unlikely their behavior will result in a single hospitalization, never mind death, but their behavior is nonetheless harmful given our current political climate.
