I love Bonds as a player! There is no one close to him, drugs may be a factor, comparing Bonds and McGwire is a joke...

Bonds gets on base almost every other time, Bonds was pitched around more than Big Mac true but McGwire got his share of walks that year too......

Bonds numbers all over SB , Walks, AVG, No one player has ever been pitched aroung like Barry...He gets two three good pitches a game and somehow he homers every three days, all this while approaching 40 and showing no let up....He still need about 115 homers to catch Hank Aaron...

The biggest problem in professional sports is steroid use. McGwire was the first with Canseco, but all of them do it now. Even pitchers. A writer in an NY paper told me the word is out that Donnelly of the Angels started using before this past year.

I SAW HIM IN LAKE TAHOE AND HE LOOKED LIKE KAREN CARPENTER. HE WAS DOING SOME MAJOR ROIDS BACK IN THE DAY. WHAT A JOKE. HIS HOME RUN TITLE SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY.

They both do them or did when they played. Hate to say it but I don't really like McGwire for some reason. His attitude or something has always turned me off. He said when they were contemplating a players strike he would retire and not back the union, this when he was trying to break the homerun record. Now I hate player stikes and all that but funny how when they could help him (and they did plenty in his career) he was proud to be in but when he needed to break a record the union business suddenly didn't fit into his personal agenda. Like the other hotdogs it's that "me first" attitude I didn't care for. He's certainly not the only one but even if he is a big Irishman but I just don't care for him, not completely sure why.

BTW Bonds is on steroids too in my opinion but all things being equal he's still 25 times the player Big Mc ever was.
