I love how CNN was reporting all last night that the mural depicted a plane flying into a building that "looked like the World Trade Center". Look at the mural and tell me if that building looks anything like the WTC. The mural is dispicable enough without having these bozos exaggerating everything just for ratings.

The first builing appears to have 10 floors.
Out, you're statement was only 91% off this time - congratulations you're making progress

First, remember that it's an artist's rendering. Secondly, what other famous event do you recall that shows a civilian airliner crashing into a skyscraper in recent times?

It doesn't have to be an exact photographic rendering to get the sick message across. As far as they saying it IS the WTC, it really matters not to me, it's that they could only mean to evoke it.

Well considering that most of the time I agree with you, this statement might be correct.

Jazz,

I think it's more of the mentality of the artist that 'he' would depict the airline as an Iraqi Airline. We all know that it was American citizens onboard American planes. But the fact that only Iraqi citizens piloted by Iraqi pilots on an Iraqi plane symbolizes that Iraqi lives must be sacrificed in order to defeat the USA. Interesting, in my opinion, that the artist agrees with the act of the terrorist by substitutes it with Iraqi unity.

Maybe we can repaint that mural and instead of a plane, transform it into a cruise missile with usa written on it and put a picture of saddaam on a flag on top of that building.

Gar: I like your interpretation of the artist's intent. But the best response is to free these people.

Out,the left won't deystroy America.Neither will the right. The only thing that would destroy it,would be that either would cease to exist. We need the balance and the difference of ideas.

Gargoyle & Jazz,
Not knowing the Iraqi people, I think it would be unfair for one to depict all Iraqis as having the same "feelings" as this particular "artist".

Remember, on a daily basis you hear about some punk kid spray-painting swasticas on synagogs. Aside from a few rightie RXer's that is hardly a representation of the overall American sentiment.

It is a disturbing picture. They can run carbon14 dating on it to see if it was painted pre-9/11. If so, this is much better than WMD. This proves that there is a least one terrorist/terrorist supporter in Iraq, a fact that justifies the entire carpet bombing of a sovereign nation...

radio, you need to work on your science, carbon-14 dating cannot possibly be that accurate.

Jazz,

A unique sidenote is that the artist painted this mural with his FEET. Really...it's true. After having his arms blown off in the first Gulf War by coalition forces (i'm sure grant mind find some article or picture to support this inhumanity), Saddam generously sent him to an art school in Baghdad where he learned to paint with is feet. He couldn't do it with his mouth because saddam extracted all his teeth as punishment for losing his arms to the coalition! But, Saddam the benevolent, sent him to the art school with the sole purpose of rendering anti american murals in neighboring iraqi towns...It is rumored by spanish cureators that he may be the next "Pie'caso"...(Pie, of course, is spanish for feet)...however, no one can find this talented iraqi...

Interesting, isn't it?
