That's funny you pointed that out, douchebag leads his team in strikeouts this season.

He also leads his team in OBP and SLG. But his most important contribution to the Red Sox is one that can't be measured: the protection he provided Ortiz and therefore the pitches he sees.

Manny doesnt run out ground balls huh??

AS IF I want dirt dog antics from my historic run producing cleanup hitter.

AS IF I give a shit if he is thrown out by 3 steps insteada one and a half on ground out ta short.

What happened to Juan Gonzalez? Manny has been the most durable player on the Red Sox throughout his tenure. An occassional mental lapse and a day off every 2 and a half months is more than acceptable for all that he does.

Leave the dirt dog shit to Trot Nixon and Alex Cora.

Manny has been an exceptional teamate and citizen off the field and his run producing statistics are legendary and historical.

Boston is an absolutely brutal town to play in thanks to the print and radio media that makes it impossible to work and live in peace in this town.

Quick Manny story.. I used to work on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:Street><st1:address>Ipswich street</st1:address></st1:Street> directly across the street from Fenway during the ‘02’ or ‘03’ season.

Sunday night sox game, SOX lose. No more than 10 minutes after the final out Manny pulls out the players parking lot in his Benz as the crowd clears away to let him thru some are shit talking about how he doesn’t care etc.. that night the EEI callers are bashing.
<o:p> </o:p>
The next morning drive in the EEI morning hosts are bashing Manny’s behavior that he doesn’t care is a loafer etc..
<o:p> </o:p>
At <st1:time Hour="8" Minute="0">8:00</st1:time> Monday morning (less than 10 hours later) I pass Manny as I pull into work and he is pulling into the park. ON HIS OFF DAY. During August they rarely get a day off and he’s hitting the cages etc. early in the A.M. following a late night finish.
<o:p> </o:p>
Meanwhile he’s being ripped in every media format???

.
The real douchebags are pieces of shit like Rey Sanchez that played like shit were generally unlikeable and spent too much time on the DL yet Rey would cruise around Boston in his Bentley hitting on evryones girlfriend while the team was on the road. Meanwhile Johnny Pesky 10x the player Sanchez ever was drives a used Ford Thunderbird (Im not kidding).
<o:p> </o:p>
<st1:City><st1:place>Boston</st1:place></st1:City> fans are appreciative of Manny and Pedro as we understand that thanks to them, we have witnessed historic greatness first hand and it has been an absolute blast.

Manny has the best swing (technically) IMO, in the majors. He will be missed for many years after he is gone.
