if you earn $35,000 you're in the top 50% but you are not in the top 25%, you might be in the top 49% but with the data in this chart you can not tell.
according to this chart the median is 31,988, so if you earn that much you are in the 50th percentle. if you earn 32k per year your percentle would be slightly lower (49.999%)
