This is very unlikely. In the 80's and early 90's less hookers had HIV and it is very likely Magic Johnson is bi-sexual and that is how he contracted HIV.

How could anyone criticize a country for not wanting more communicable diseases in their country than they already have, sort of like my belief that I have the right to refuse entry to my house to people with bombs strapped to their chest. Personally I think people with AIDS should have a warning label tattooed on their foreheads and genitals.
