calls a bunt with 2 strikes, man on 3rd, tied in 9th inning of world series? good stuff....fn jeanyuss

I don't think he called that, I think Baez did that himself. I didn't hate the idea anyway. The execution was obviously lacking.

He has the best team and yet he has to always try to be the story. Has to take Hendricks out and put in Lester and his catcher Ross. Just because he can. The Cubs still will win this because I could manage that group, but he always makes three moves when one would do.

You keep saying that he needs to win something first. Does this qualify?

Totally agree. The cubs won despite poor managing. I will give him credit for a few good moves (batting Schwarber second appeared to be a good move) but in general he got in the way and the Cubs still managed to win (reminds me of Bobby Cox ...the most overrated manager in history). Using the reliever in game 6 with a big lead was a bad decision. Pulling Hendricks in the 5 was an even worse decision. Calling for a bunt...horrible. I think the pinch runner in the 10th was a bad decision that turned out good ...... more because the base runner did a great job......on the other hand if it hits the wall for a double and he ends up at third and doesnt score ...... then it would not have looked so good. Bigger issue was pulling a hot hitter in the 10th. Never know the game could go allot more innings and you would have lost that bat.

I think the Cubs had the better team top to bottom.... so it is no big feat to win when you are the favorite. Cleveland played great in the post season with a less talented team. Cleveland had the 24th lowest payroll in baseball to open the season......they over achieved that is for sure. Glad the high paying Dodgers and Yankees were not in the world series. Congratulations to Cleveland.

Maddon got crazy bad games 6 and 7...leave Hendricks in...overpitched Chapman..not Chapman's fault...bunting Baez with 3-2 count was terrible

Giants 3 rings. Cublets 1, catch up

I absolutely 100% knew this was going to happen one day when the Cubs won it all. I new one wouldn't be enough, the haters' response is just too predictable.

"Took you long enough", "we have won more since whatever date", blah blah blah blah blah.

What a joke. Just let us have this moment you miserable bitches.

You have your moment...congrats

But Maddon would have been crucified without your victory???it is nice to think outside the box but his moves were extreme including his handling of the pitching staff...

I agreed with some of his moves, disagreed with many of them too.

End of day he got the job done.

Anyway, I was diverting from original topic in that post and just making a general statement. Of course even winning it all would not be enough to shut up haters for even one day. Immediate reaction was so predictable. For some of these guys at least...

No question he had a horrible game.
The worst move by far was taking out a domanant starter with only 61 pitches .WTF?
That was one of the top 5 dumb moves of all time.

I would have left him in there till his arm fell off.

I would honestly have to watch the cubs play at least 100 games in a season to make an ultimate conclusion. I've only watched them play about half that many .

Hard to judge a manager based on a single game but make no mistake he sucked last night.

And he did the same thing against the dodgers pulling Lester after only 70 pitches of dominant baseball.

He 100% sucked last night .

But it's not enough info for me to say he sucks all the time.

That would be like saying Theo sucks cause he signed heyward .

Think he's a great manager and he did a great job this season. Game 6 and 7 weren't his best efforts. Cubs won in spite of him. I'm not a cubs fan but they won me over this post season. I love the energy those kids play with. Its a hard team not to like.
