We didnt advance yet, but like i said 16 of 18 times the flyers have been up 3-1 and advanced one of those losses was to the devils and i was at game 7 when lindros went down. broke my heart.

there is no chance they give up. too much veteran leadership

lets not forget the habs came back 1 time from a 3-1 deficit and it was against the bruins in 2004.

who was on that bruins team??? MIKEY KNUBLE. he wont allow it. no chance .

smith, knuble, hatcher, timonen. too many vets to collapse

but lets all cut the shit with these luck comments. this team is legit.

Bottom line is they won. What else can you say!!!! Biron played very well again.

If you say so Leafs. You have also been telling me that the Habs are the better team and that sooner or later they will start getting the bounces.

Well they did. Two goals last night in 40 seconds. One off a flyers dman and the other bounced right to saku. end line is, it still wasnt enough

And show some respect? Then why dont u fukin man up and stop being a whinny little baby and admit your team isnt the better one in this series. Sure your the one seed and you had the better year, but your not playing better right now. its the simple facts and every single person on this board is beginning to see it except for you and passthebuck who just happen to be habs fans.

i will post as many threads as id like, if you dont like them dont go into them, the rest of us are enjoying it.

i never once claimed that i thought philly would win the cup, its actually quite the contrary. franz and i both said we were happy they made the playoffs after all the injuries this season and with a defense that is very suspect. that being said, this team is playing very solid hockey right now and they are takin advantage of their chances.

your like 7-55 on the power play in the playoffs you do realize that right?

i mean u ran your mouth against the boston people, and it took u 7 games to close out an 8 seed , meanwhile pittsburgh is mowing people down.

we are a 6th seed that already beat the 3 seed and has the 1 seed on the ropes. i think thats accomplishment enough.

instead of telling me oh its luck, why dont u sit back and break down the fukin game and maybe ull understand it.

like i said i played minor league hockey i know the game. to be quite honest i just enjoy pissing u the fuk off because ur too immature to admit that ur team isnt good enough.

but i like ur fight for ur team. its a good thing and all fans should be passionate. god knows us philly fans have been passionate for 25 years and aint won a thing.

u want me to offer u some insight its simple heres my break down:

stevens already mentioned the wash series to Philly post game last night. Briere/Umberger also mentioned how they were up 3-1 alst series as well. i think that Wash series will serve as a good lesson for them.

1) Goaltending goaltending goaltending - There is no doubt Biron came into these playoffs never having been in them. People thought he would be the weak part of this hockey club. He was not spectacular in the Caps series, but he has gotten better every game. He is obviously the MVP of the series against the Habs right now. I dont think anyone watching the games could argue.

2.) Balanced scoring - Montreal is not getting production from anyone other then then big unit. Without Kovalev and Koivu in this series where would you be? Sure tom kostopolous scored a goal , but lets face it he shot it into an empty net.

on the flip. the flyers got through round one because of danny breiere and vinny prospal. they carried the team. sure we got two big goals from knuble and lupul, but other then those goals, they didnt put the puck in the net. briere and prospal made things happen in the first series and got us here.

now in the second round frankly i dont think briere has been as big a factor. sure he netted the winner last night on the power play, but at 5on5 he kinda just blends in lately. i think the pressure of playing canada may be on him. but who is carrying us? RJ Umberger and jeff carter. these two kids came to play this round, and have carried the team. umberger is probably as hot as anyone in the playoffs right now. sure a few of his goals were soft, but the end line is if they go in they count.

3.) the PK. The penalty kill has been downright awesome. They have forced montreal to play their penalty kill from the outside instead of letting them work the lanes like they did so well during the regular season. guys like thoresen and richards have done an outstanding job. that and they scored a SH goal in game 3 which was a huge one.

4) conditioning - the flyers are obviously not the faster team here, and they will be the slowest team left in the playoffs. they must must must play the body. the second goal last night was a turnover by a Hab in the neutral zone because he heard the footsteps. he threw that puck right onto prospals stick and sent him the other way.

5) capitalize - the flyers have taken advantage of every chance they have been given. on the flip side the Habs have not. you had a 5-3 power play in game 3. u scored two goals and got within 1. then minutes later u had another man advantage to tie the game and didnt get it done. in game 1 u got a power play late, scored to tie it and won in overtime. since that time u havent done a lick to capitalize in this series.

on the reverse, the flyers got a call last night late which was 100% a penalty. a dumb one by begnin but it was one. wat did we do? instead of folding up like a tent after blowing a late lead, we score to end it.

6) mental aspect -in a best of 7 series mental aspect comes into play. the Habs were riding high after game 1 comeback no doubt and rightfully so. but another quick 2 goal lead by philly in game 2, and then again in game 3, and then again in game 4. trust me we arent the only ones who know it. the players know it too, and i think u can see it in the play the habs know it and they feel like biron is a wall.

guy took a huge risk last night playing halak. he let in a bad goal, but otherwise played decent. he looks shaky back there but he makes the saves. hasek looked unorthodox as well, and well hes one of the best goalies ever.

now you head back to montreal down 3-1 with two days off to let the flyers rest, and surely they need it. the question is mentally where is montreal? they have to feel horrible and now they have two goalies who have to be mentally beat down. do u go back to price and if he loses game 5 ruin his career? or do u stick with halak and basically tell price hes done.

obviously in my mind guy thought he couldnt win this series with carey price as his goalie and that is why he made the change. there is no other reason i could see other then he made a decision that he wasnt gonna be able to pull this off with price as his netminder. i wouldnt want to be him thats for sure.

these are my thoughts. i dont know what u people think or how u see it, but its quite simple to me.

we have gotten spectacular goaltending, we have capitalized on every chance we have been given, we jump out to leads so we arent chasing the game, and we have played excellent on the PK.

u guys have outshot the flyers, are faster then the flyers, and have had significantly more time on the power play then the flyers. all the while getting subpar goaltending.

dispute these thoughts for me.

The better team here again tonight???

Again you could not capitalize on the power play.

Gave up a weak goal.

Took a bad penalty.

Kovalev kneed umberger.

And we won again.

Thats 3 straight.

What will be the excuses now? I mean more luck? You havent lead the entire series. NOT FUKING ONCE.

SO LET THE EXCUSES FLOOD IN.

hey fool, why don't you post some plays and keep your pre-pubescent bullshit to yourself?

no one gives a shit about how well you know your team.

everyone has a tv and everyone watches the game.

the fact that you hail from Philly doesn't mean you are the almighty righteous authority on the Flyers.

you haven't posted any plays since October..
everything since then has been pure bullshit...

'look at me, i'm great.. i know philly.. they won tonight... if i had posted that they would've won, i would've been right! i'm so awesome.. Philly's so awesome.. i know my flyers better that anyone..'

this isn't your own personal zine where you can let your teen angst pour out onto the screen... this is a sport betting forum.. a hockey betting forum where we're supposed to exchange information and picks on hockey games - not the childish assertions for which you have become so famous for.

you would be tolerable if you kept your steaming piles of shit in one thread, but you spew forth new and useless threads like some kind of rampant diarrhea.. you're single-handedly turning this forum into your own personal trash heap..

please stop.

:Carcajada:- That is some funny shit.

I think we all get the point Big J - you love the flyers, you love the attention you have created & you love stirring the pot.

But not once have you stopped to thank the lord you have such solid Canadian players - Like oh i don't know your captain (who gets traded to the team and is instantly made captain) your two assistant captains, your goalie who is playing awesome. Lets not forget guys like Briere, Upshall, Carter.

Congrats on nice play off run that really should be no surprise to us as they were a dominate team early in the year and closed out the year solidly as well.

So we get the point the Flyers are the second coming and the HABS are soft b/c they won't go to the net. They do a great job of getting shots on the goal from the perimeter but they need to go to the net to try and get Biron off his game that is playoff hockey. Unless they do that this series will be over!

So stop with the poking and prodding post a play & start treating posters with a little respect.
