Florida had 2 starters injured to begin the season and Chris Walker wasn't eligible until late January....and they still lost (on the road) by the skin of their teeth.

UF has vulnerabilities (they tend to play down to their competition and have been in way too many close games that shouldn't have been close)...but they have enough to win it all.

The SEC was a mediocre conference this year. Outside of the 3 teams that made it in there really wasn't much of an argument for any of the other 11 teams. There are only 68 spots (and really about 50 for the power conferences....do you ever see a power conference w/ a 14+ seed?). So I think the SEC got in their best and obviously w/ all 3 making the Sweet 16, have done well.

Do not be surprised one bit if UCLA beats Florida.

Hell, Auburn almost beat UF. I won't be surprised at all. I'm more surprised UF is on the winning streak they are on.

The thing about UF, however, is they are very well coached and unselfish. They'll have a player go for 20+ one night then score 3 points the next time out....as long as they win they don't seem to care. They are also one of the best defensive teams in the country. 4 senior starters doesn't hurt either.

I expect the UCLA game to be as close as any and, hopefully, UF pulls away late. I imagine the score will be within 6 points either way.

NCAA basketball has just become a joke every year that goes by.

Players playing for a team for 1-year then jumping ship for the NBA, leaving that team and his team mates to struggle the next year.

Players should be made to stay at LEAST 3 years to hone their skills, hopefully get a degree to fall back on if they don't make it in the NBA, and learn teamwork and leadership on a bigger stage before jumping into the pros.

Instead, we have players just going through the motions at school to jump to the NBA, not caring about their future or getting a degree, and making the NBA teams GAMBLE and sign them to huge contracts hoping they pan out.

At least with 3 years of college under their belt, players will show if they can progress at a higher level, will show their true abilities, and provide an education.

Just a joke with this 1 and done crap. Teams scramble every summer to fill in rosters, team work goes out the winder, chemistry isn't made between the players.

If Florida wins the title, does that make the SEC the strongest? Certainly not, just makes them the best team.

post 23 is spot-on.

well, maybe they should of had more teams, at the expense of the Atlantic 10, ACC and new Big East (which looks pathetic without us there to cover their sorry asses :))

damn, sure is nice to be able to talk shit again

2011 looks a lot closer now than it has the last two seasons in which we experienced a whole lot of turmoil both on and off the court

Still some really good teams left! As a Gator fan, I don't want to see UK again. I'll take 3-0 any year of my life vs. UK!

The only 2 teams UF lost to (Wisconsin and UConn) are still left. UF played both of those teams down 2 starters (1 to injury, 1 to suspension). I'll put my money on UF in a re-match....but I ain't touchin' UF vs. UK.

So the ACC won the National Title in Football while struggling in the NCAA Tournament and the SEC finally lost a National Title in Football and has 2 Teams in the Elite 8, including the #1 overall seed in Florida still alive.

Something really bothers me about this Kentucky team making it to the Final Four. I just don't think they are that good, they are not disciplined, not well coached. Their guards basically put their head down and run towards the basket and chuck the ball at the rim and hope a foul is called. Literally that is all they do. Throw up hail mary shots and try to initiate contact. They create all the contact, act like they were just taken out by a sniper and chuck the ball at the rim. It is annoying brand of basketball and it offends me. Randle, one of the only players i think is good and plays hard, should be called for 3 charges a game and never does. I can't stand watching it and i can't stand that they keep moving on. Their guard play is not good, they don't pass it well, and they don't get back on D. I don't understand how they win these games. It just seems so wrong to me.

The refs have turned the tournament, something which should be impossible to screw up, into inconsistent games where nobody knows what is going on and the better team doesn't get to move on. This year more then any it is really bothering me. Something drastic needs to be done with regards to officiating that overhauls the whole system. We are at an all time low.
