QL,you are corect, it is a matter of respect.
And besides respect a matter of being able to communicate, it's unrealistic to think that you'll find even a 50% of a forein country's individuals that would speak you mother language. Definelly not if you want to pick up an average nice girl on regular bar.

I speak some Spanish, well it really must suck as I know make errors all the time, but I never stop when I am down there. Still all the locals love it when you try and help you out. Even the maniacal cab drivers can become your buddy when you aren't the typical gringo and can have simple conversations with them.

Judge, how come you never took me to any of these sorts of places??? Everywhere we went we ran into sports book owners or guys wearing sports book shirts it seemed!

"maniacal cab drivers" ...............can there be a better description for such individuals????????

they only have two modes

1) they are vacant, which means they drive slowly.........and you better keep your distance as they will stop in miliseconds if they see anybody that might be trying to catch a ride......

2) they have someone in, which means they will try to get as close as they can to the speed of light to get to their destination and then go again into mode 1.

Don't forget this mode Wolfie:

3) When they spot a good looking girl, under 17 of course, walking down the street they cut off at least two cars to get near and after the girl completely ignores him, they yell "chingate!" and burst off back at the speed of light.

I stand corrected, I forgot about the wannabe playboy/sexy cab driver in powerful red car, that's the mode Bill mentioned

Check out Scarlett's in San Pedro. Was just there at the end of December and had a great time. Also, the Del Rey is a must visit. :suomi:

Traveling to San Jose in Feb. with 12 guys. I'm in charge of running the annual golf trip. Chose Costa Rica because I have a few Books there and heard great things about Costa Rica in this forum. Some of us have off shore accounts and a few are looking for new outs. I'm wondering if any of the books offer complimentary services to clients when they are in their country. I'm looking primarily for golf, dinner, cocktail parties, transportation, info on places to go or anything to make our stay in San Jose and Guanacaste more enjoyable. Talked to Cust. Service at Skybook and Omni without much luck. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on contacts or sportsbooks that might help. Thanks.
Talk to Mike at Skybook, and I am sure he will be more than helpful. He has never had one complaint that I have heard of. Feel free to email him at mike@skybook.com. I, along with 99.99999 % of the posters here who have dealt with him would be shocked if he doesn't bend over backwards for you. :103631605 :toast:
