Angelle,
You definitely want to start with a beginner's level book. It will teach you the basics of the game. Specifically, the first thing you should learn is Hand Rankings. You need to know that a flush beats a straight and that a straight beats 3 of a kind. Once you know that, you need to understand the betting process - your options generally are check, fold, call, or raise. After you understand those then you have to figure out what is a good starting hand. All hold em books will have charts of "recommended" starting hands. People lose more money by playing inferior starting hands than by any other play in limit hold em. If you just stick to the top 20 (or fewer) starting hands such as pairs (obviously when you have low pairs you want to improve to 3 of a kind or you likely won't win), Ace King through A-10, and KQ QJ J10 then you will be way ahead of most beginner level players. Many beginner level players want to play 7-10 or A-8. These are not good starting hands. Keep things simple starting out, learn good fundamentals, then add more sophisticated plays as you go along such as when to bluff, when to raise based on position. btw, Bluffing is generally a bad play at low limit hold em so it should not be something that you try to spend a lot of time on. That little tidbit and understanding the "good starting hands" concept will save you so much money in the long run.
Best of luck
