3-0 sounds like last year when simpletons kept saying Stafford was "0-3 in the playoffs", it was a damn narrative.

(the thing is, it was when he was with Detroit, a low seed playing top seeds, Detroit had no running game, a poor OL, and a terrible defense... oh)

Cincy gets stops on defense, plain and simple. They are not a shutdown type of defense but I like them to get at least 1-3 big stops a game which is either punt or a FG. Turnovers aren't a guarantee but they force big ones.. this year was Kelce's strip fumble while KC was driving, I believe it was mid 4Q. Last year in the AFC Champ it was a pick by a DL who dropped back into coverage. Calls the offenses a wash, I still give a slight edge to CIN but I think they have a big advantage on defense.

Again, for the most part I agree w/ the initial post but I don't think it's all luck/bounces.

AFC championship game?

21-10 at half with the chiefs getting stopped on the 1 to go up 28-10.

chiefs have a 1st and goal at the 5. Bengals have 0 timeouts. Touchdown wins it basically and they settled for FG

then they win the coin flip and mahomes throws a pick

lots of good breaks for the bengals to win that game. Not sure how it can been seen any other way. Give them credit for winning it, not discounting them winning, but the chiefs blew that one.

the game this year I didn’t get a chance to watch live. So your take may be right. That said the chiefs still missed a game tying field goal.

point really wasn’t anything other than people are hearing 0-3 vs bengals they really don’t realize how close the games have been and honestly how fortunate cincy was to win the afc championship game last year in arrowhead.

Chiefs should have taken the points before the half. I was in the stadium, remember how pissed the fans were that they didn't kick it.

What does the 1st and Goal at 5 have to do with luck though? The Bengals are good down in the red zone, and they defended that sequence well. If anything, Chiefs were fortunate that their lineman fell on the ball after Mahomes fumbled it

I understand there are good and bad bounces in football, but turnovers can't blindly be labeled as luck or flukey. Certain players are more likely to turn the ball over than others due to bad decision making, etc. Mahomes made a lot of reckless decisions that game, and frankly got a way with a couple.

I mentioned that fumble...game could've ended then. Also the play before his interception in OT, game should've ended on a pick-6 from Eli Apple. It almost feels like the Chiefs were "lucky" if anything

In general I don't think 0-3 as an isolated statistic matters much. I think it's hard to evaluate what that means to players motivation levels, etc. It's not like the Chiefs can't line up with the Bengals or anything like that, obviously.

Having said all of that, I do think the Bengals are the better team this season but not by much. Game is in Arrowhead though, and Bengals coming off a road win in Buffalo. It's a tough one.

I agree with the last 2 paragraph ^ with the exception of the bengals being better. Think it’s a coin flip either way.

Tape on the ankle and a shot works miracles even if the ankle is still achy
This was updated 30 minutes ago when I read this article>>> The Kansas City Chiefs shared some encouraging news on quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ ankle injury Wednesday.

Mahomes, who is dealing with a high ankle sprain on his right foot, will practice on Wednesday, coach Andy Reid said.

It’s unclear to what extent Mahomes will participate in practice. But his return to the practice field is encouraging for the Chiefs ahead of Sunday’s AFC championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

“It’s doing good. I had a few days of treatment and a few days of rehab. I’m excited to go on the practice field and test it out, and see where I’m at. But it’s feeling good so far,” Mahomes said during a press conference before practice.

It's a shame the NFL has to do this mystery cover-up vague info thing.

I went thru 5 weeks without a true assessment of the Hurts injury (still not sure)
Now we have the Mahomes situation with a lot of guessing and assuming on whats going on.
The reason NFL should be forced to disclose accurate and precise info on injuries is big money guys have contacts and ways to get that info and isn't that what the NFL is suppose to be guarding against? With all the betting sites and advertising for the same during games the NFL can no longer use the excuse we don't cater to gamblers. The way it is now big money has an advantage when it comes to playing status info.

Throw Lamar Jackson in that mix as well.

Sure there are ways to know things and get inside information. But dont say that too loud, our resident expert doesn’t believe in it.

End of day i stand by what i posted 3 days ago. If he plays, hes a lot closer to 100% than people giving him credit for and the line is way off, as a healthy mahomes KC is -4 or–4.5 from what I’ve seen. So all the people who jumped the bengals thinking it was the game of thE decade did so getting a bad line.

Not saying how the game will play out, but sheer value alone, you should be getting a LOT more than a point or so in Arrowhead against KC period. Unless Mahomes is ruled out.

It's damn close, but think Bengals have more edges overall . Of course game being at Arrowhead can nullify it

I'm way more conflicted about this game than NFC though

In my experience, it's defence that wins these games. I'd like Cincy if Mahomes never had any problems. The chance that he may be less than 100% is just icing on the cake.

Williams & Cappa out again for Cincy. So 3 OL starters, again.
KC DL is superior to Buffalo can Cincy get it done again? Buffalo seemed to be slipping on the snowy artificial turf, WTF?

So 3 Cincinnati O'line players are out , So what ? The 3 backups may play just as well or BETTER , cuz they wanna go to da BIG DANCE too. Me? Perhaps Cincinnati at the half, and somewhere during the game Mahomes either gets reinjured or just completely knocked out of the game. ?☹

I like Eagles a lot in NFC game. The AFC seems more like either team can win.Being at Home, with the crowd being even more intense than usual because a win gets KC to the big dance.KC will need that energy because Cincy has the better overall D and the offenses are pretty comparable in my assessment, and really I give cincy a small edge on offense.I think there is some value in that the Chiefs are only playing their 2nd playoff game and cincy in their 3rd.Takes a lot of emotional energy getting up for these playoff games, just look at Buffalo, they looked flat last week.A lot of emotion had been playing out in the Bills lives for several weeks and through the whole Hamlin ordeal they really did not play very well at all.I have bengals in a 20 -1 future bet and already foolishly played some back on KC at pk when i could of waited and had +2'.If I can get either of these teams at +3' ingame I will probably play a little bit.It really feels more like a FG game than any of their last 3 matchups. And all three of those ended up with cincy winning by 3.Where for the first time it feels like cincy is the better overall team, even with the 3 O lineman out.Seems like with the past scores of these two it would be really hard to put KC up at anymore than 3, and still get very much action on the Chiefs. The chiefs really seem to have a hard time in playing well for the full 60 minutes.I would think the stronger motivation on being way overprepared and feeling like the underdog and not taking the opponent lightly, that the edge is with the Chiefs, as they would really like to get revenge after getting up big last year and choking it away because cincy adjusted at the half and KC had No answer for all those times bengals dropped 8 into coverage. It should be a really good game I think.

This is why lines matter. Mahomes lot closer to 100% than 50. Had the line been accurate, you woulda covered with the bengals. The forum expert jumped on a CANT miss, underdog of the decade line—- he wasn’t smart enough to know there wasn’t any value in that line

Tape did the trick. Was definitely a skewed line due to this.

Vegas knew. They just don’t make 4-5 point line mistakes in games like this
