I dont think anyone is questioning how good of a coach Saban is and how good his recruiting class was the big thing is a lot of young players get a lot of PT and in such a tight conference it is unreasonable to expect a team like that to be able to go undefeated. I think most people expected it would be a year or two more before Saban has them where they are now

why? a third of this the current players were ranked number 3 in nation couple years ago. i cant people understand the of alabama has talent lol....bo jackson, terrell owens, jesse owens, joe louis, willie mayes, hank aaron, carnell williams, ben wallace, carl lewis, phillip rivers, joe namath, bart starr, charles barkley, frank thomas....for such a small population compared to the californias, texases, and floridas... this state is talent hotbed. what im trying to say the players were always there lol its in our blood

if texas went undefeated in 05...why cant we go undefeated in 08. we did it in 92 also 13-0 baby. now we want our 13th national championship. 23rd SEC championship. next bowl appearance and next bowl win...the latter 3 being ncaa records

Oh, they CAN go undefeated, the question is will they? I think they won't. There's a big hole at quarterback for the Tide. Don't be too surprised if Ole Miss, LSU and/or Auburn comes out with a win.
