Gabe, keep up the solid work. I moderate over at bodybuilding.com so if you want, join up, and send me a PM (or email me anytime).
Glycemic Index, learn it.
You cant be serious about this can u? Trust me, I am 33 and know my fair share of knowledge about nutrition. When people talk about glycemic index , I just roll my eyes. I understand what it is, but the difference in eating brown rice and white rice is so out of control, it is crazy. You are basically splitting hairs at this point.
Instead of worrying about the GI....how about worrying about getting your but in the gym at least 3 times a week and do a fullbody workout that consists of the following and no substitutions....
MONDAY / WEDNESDAY / FRIDAY (3sets @ 6-10reps)
CHEST - INCLINE DB OR BB PRESS
BACK - DEADLIFT OR BENT OVER BB ROW
TRICEPS - CLOSE GRIP BENCH PRESS OR WEIGHTED DIPS
BICEPS - INCLINE DB CURL OR STANDING BB CURL
LEGS - FRONT SQUAT OR BACK SQUAT
SHOULDERS - ARNOLD PRESS OR DB OVERHEAD PRESS
CORE WORK - ABS....3X25....WEIGHTED IF YOU CAN...INCLINED IF U CAN.
After getting disciplined with that....then you can really start to split hairs with their diet. I see so many people (including myself before)...that start with trying to lose weight, that they get so out of control with counting every single sugar, calorie, fat gram, etc....that they just get frustrated and quit.....
Just do this....go to the gym 3 times a week...fullbody workouts....try to eat a little better at first....After your begin to see some changes , that will im sure motivate you to eat better, and then it will snowball into doing everything better.
DONT BEGIN WITH TRYING TO CRITIQUE EVERY-SINGLE-THING.....
Hope that helps....basically, dont worry about the GI and shit like that.....not now at least.
