Well after years of being a fat ass I've decided to lose weight. Started eating less and exercise on 1/31 and so far I've lost 4 pounds.

Diet wise my plan has been to not eat anything til lunch time which is extremely easy for me since I never ate early anyway. Then for lunch I have a small meal like a bowl of soup, can of tuna something like that. For Dinner I have a small/medium size meal as well.. Throughout the day I'm drinking tons of water staying away from SODA completely. I don't eat anything after 7pm..

Tuna is a great low calorie/low fat meal and the way I prepare it actually tastes pretty good. Instead of putting fatting mayo in it, I squeeze lemon all over it and put chopped up onions in it. Also when I have a salad instead of putting salad dressing on it I squeeze lemon all over the salad and it tastes very good.

Exercise wise my plan is too get exercise anyway I can. My friend lives in an apartment complex that has a gym but I don't have access to it all the time but I'll be able to get in there 2-3 times a week. In the meantime I've been walking a lot and getting exercise anyway I can. I purposely park 3-4 blocks away from my apartment so I can get some extra walking in.

Instead of driving to the Supermarket that is 1/2 mile away I've been walking there taking the long way there as well. I've been walking at least 40 minutes everyday. Also I'm planning to play basketball once or twice a week with a friend or even by myself if no one is available.

I've noticed that since I started exercise again my whole well being has improved. I'm a lot happier I have a lot more energy and just have a brighter outlook. I strongly recommend exercise to any who is suffering from depression or anything similar to that.

I know I have a long way to go to get to where I want, and it's not going to be easy going out to dinner with friends but it definitely can be done and will be done. I lost 65 pounds 8 years ago so it can be done. But this time after I lose the weight I'm going to make sure I don't gain it back by continuing to exercise for the rest of my life and not overeating constantly.

I gained my weight by lack of activity and exercise and of course fast foods. I'm sure some of you have been where I'm at before or maybe where I'm at now.

If any of you have any advice or diet and exercise suggestions I'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance and I'll be posting updates as to where I'm at with this.

Take care

No bread sugar or soda.

If you can afford a stationary bike, buy it.

Thats the way I got back in shape the last time and I guess when I decide to again...thats the way I will do it.

Good luck Gyno...

Don't really have room in my small apartment for a bike. Do have access to one at my friends apartment but only twice a week.

Will definitely put that to use..

Thanks sir.

Awesome job so far, but the absolute, without a doubt worse thing you can do is skip breakfast. i dont know how to emphasize this enough. if you eat 1st thing, it gets you metabolism going right away. you should eat 1/3 of your daily calories for breakfast, if you are trying to lose weight. there are so many ways to get a good breakfast, even if its plain old cereal. my fav is 2 egg whites, 1 egg yolk fried with no fat spray, a slice of low sodium low fat bacon and a 100 cal english muffin. add some OJ and you are good to go.

also, eating a snack between meals--granola bar, yogurt, fruit, chicken breast (in the afternoon before a workout).

If you would follow a 1500-1700 cal a day plan and do:
breakfast
snack
lunch
snack
dinner
snack.....you will see a difference.

i ate a snack every night at about 9pm (in this plan i am telling you about) and lost 30lbs in 3 mos---i say ate as in past tense cause i have a bun in the oven and am starting to gain some back! my fav snack was sugar free fat free pudding--choch with sugar free fat free whip cream----pudding made with skim milk, was a snack with a few carbs but some good preotien and tasty. be adventurous but dont be silly---u have to eat and often--6 times a day! you meal plan is absolutely not condusive to wt loss. FYI i did 1500 cal a day and for every 30 min of strenuous exc i ate 100 more calories. one thing i know 100% is that if you dont eat enough when "dieting" and exercising, it will not work. promise me you will at least eat breakfast. you will feel even better. gl and keep us posted!!

PS a workout and fitness freak told me that instead of a small breakfast, med lunch and big dinner to reverse it and have a huge breakfast, med lunch and small dinner...this has helped too.

PPS if you ever have a question to anything feel free to email me

the continuous exercise and better eating is hard to adjust for ppl who dont do it too...you can def do it, get up extra 10-15 min early...but best thing i did (do) is get up and exercise then eat bkft. double BAM to get metabolism going!!! (get a kickboxing video and do that for 30 min in the AM)

Agree with the Mrs. about not eating breakfast. Eating as soon as you get up gets your metabolism going which burns calories for losing weight.

If you don't eat, your body is operating in conserve mode (such as when you sleep) and has a low output.

Yeah. Good stuff. You skip breakfast every day youre gunna lose weight, there is no doubt about it.

Between all the bread and cereal breakfast is probably the most carbohydrate heavy meal of the day.

If you have to eat stick with eggs bacon sausage and whatever your fav beverage is.

breakfast most important meal of the day. Eat a big hearty breakfast and it gives you all day to work off those calories and you wont be as hungry around lunch time. Eat a rather small lunch and normal dinner. Workout everyday at least cardio 45 min a day or so. Judging by your pic I seen at the RX bash its good to see your making lifestyle changes. I wish you the best of luck

Gyn - good luck to you. Keep the motivation to excercise. That may be the most important part of losing weight. Sounds like you're off to great start!!

Cardio, cardio, and more cardio my friend. Minimal lifting (starting with low weights at high reps, do NOT try and go heavy to begin with), cardio should be main focus. BOL and God bless.

I would say to (walk) as much as you can...Walking is supposedly one of the best things you can do for your body...You got the idea bye walking to the store and getting some good excercise moving around bye playing basketball...I would eat breakfast though...Get down a protein bar or some nutrious cereal, or maybe a granola bar and fruit...Whatever's healthy to give your body energy...I know someone who lost 77 pounds in a year just bye walkin 1.5 miles a day and eating 80% healthy foods for the most part as well as drinking nothing but OJ and water...He still was able to eat fast food from time to time and have deserts and such...But yeah I think if your mentally determined to shed that weight and your patient, you should have good results...Like I said walking will do wonders...GL with it...

As many have stated, eating breakfast (a granola bar) is important to get your metabolism kicking. Something that works extremely well is eating six times per day. 3 small meals and 3 snacks (consisting of dairy, fruit, veggies). In addition to eating six times per day, every Sunday night or once weekly, lay out what you will be eating for each meal and snack for the next 7 days. Do not deviate from this plan and you will be very happy with the results.

Good luck with your goal. (if you don't have a goal, set one) weight lost, pant size..something..

Cardio is great for weight loss and great for overall health - it's a fountain of youth - but if you take in less calories than you need to maintain your current weight you will lean down regardless of whether or not you run 5 miles a day

Get use to eating oatmeal in the AM,low fat milk and some honey. Drink OJ with your oatmeal.
There is something in the molecules of OJ that makes oatmeal better at soaking up the fat and grease in your intestines.
Eat raw brocley, carrots, celery. These are like scrubbing foods that like scrubs last years pepperoni from your intestinal walls.
